Now Raglin just has to hope the series is over in 3 games so he doesn't get rag dolled. u see what i did there? luuulz
This. Hagelin better hope the Sens sweep the next 3 games, or Carks (depending on his punishment), Smith, Konopka, Cowen, etc will have their way with him.

Wow. What is up with our fans calling other fans names and insulting them today? Seriously. Learn to accept that some people disagree with your opinion and handle it like an adult.
Our captain and best player of all time may have had his career ended because of that punk. There is a concussion every night now, and people want 2 games or less? They will never be removed from the game that way.
I don't care about opinions when a players long term health is in danger.
This is a fitting length for a headhunting elbow.. I agree Weber should have been suspended aswell but that doesn't impact how the ruling should be on this incident..
Cause it's the playoffs and Weber got a tap on the wrist for what he did.
If Hagelin got what Weber did, that would be a bad thing. Weber should have gotten 5 games. Clear intent to injure IMO. Zetterberg's helmet was damaged, which means that ol' Shea used quite a bit of force.
The decision on Weber sent the wrong message: "Smash a guy's face into the boards and you only pay a fine, which is tiny when compared against your salary."
Three games for Hagelin sends the right message: "Elbow someone in the head on purpose, and you and your team will be harshly punished."

Personally, I disagree with this. Most rational fans on the Rangers board have a big issue with the complete lack of consistency from Shanahan.
I wouldn't have as much of an issue with the length of this suspension if it really was sending a message, but how can the league say that when Weber got off with basically nothing for something much worse?

Agreed but I think what Hagelin did was incidental and less than what Weber did.
Weber should've gotten a few games, Hagelin should've gotten 1.
It's also now a joke since Carkner got only 1

The question still stands what a 10 minute misconduct is.
That was so ridiculous last night, kept me up late trolling the ever loving **** out of those morons.
It's called a 10 minute game misconduct to clarify that. Match penalty means you get thrown for the match as you've said. 10 minute game misconduct isn't you get thrown from the game, it's just 10 min in the box (normally in the dressing room since there usually isn't 10min to the period left when these are taken).
Very surprised but very satisfied. Alfie has taken a lot of crud over the years with no ramifications for the other guys. I think a factor is that the Rangers caused his first concussion this year and knew the score exactly with him.
Message sent by the league that they are going to take control back.

Hahahahhaa cause we all know how well loved the Sens are by the league. They forget about us most of the time.

This only shows how clueless the league is when it comes to consistency regarding suspensions.
NY Fans are raging hard right now, some calling for Spezza's and Karlsson head. I just hope the players and coaches realize that you can't win games by being over physical, Shanny has his suspension hat on and after the pitt/pens game 3, he will be on high alert.
I love Rangers fans, they have given me the biggest laugh of my life. Taking pot shots at our city itself, saying b-list team, and making fun of my blue jays avatar.
It very much reminds me of listening to the elementary school basketball I had to ref when I was in highschool, the amount of tears is remarkable
We all complain about the league. I understand sending a message, but where will it end? Ranger Fans are miffed the Philips elbow on Callahan wasn't given more than 2 minutes. Run Richards or Gabroik, and Spezza or Karlsson will end up getting crushed by Rupp, Prust or Scott and then where does it stop? I am all for playing tough, but revenge is useless. Score and win, that's the revenge. Headhunting will only bring the same. I also don't think Hagelin was trying to hurt Alfie. He just isn't a dirty player. Look at his history. Never had more than 40 penalty minutes in an entire season in college (at least 41 games each season). Calling him a dirty player is just disingenuous. If Rupp, or Scott did this, there could be an argument. Ranger fans aren't calling Philips dirty for elbowing Callahan, but he would be looking at Hagelin's record.

Why do some posters think 3 games is too much if Alfie plays? and if he doesn't its just right? What kind of thinking is that.
Haglin doesn't have a history of dirty hits, if Alfie would have come back to play in the game, it would have been 1 game. 3 is alot in playoff hockey, but as fans our opinions are meaningless and I expect next year Shannaban will be more consistent.
hilarious. now i've been "removed from the discussion" over there. if anyone gets a chance to see what i wrote in the hagelin thread, take a gander at what passes for unacceptable argument on the rags forum...

I really don't think the Rangers are that stupid and try and take out Spezze etc.
