Is it bad that I'd be perfectly ok if our defense was this Wednesday:

Strait-Letang
Despres-Engelland
Niskanen-Bortuzzo

The Flyers will dress the same lineup regardless of what the Pens do I would assume (why wouldn't they?) Laviolette has no history of encouraging shenanigans in the regular season let alone the playoffs. MacIntyre or not Shelley will probably never play for the Flyers again.

I imagine somebody from the league will instruct the referees to issue warnings before the game starts. Players are going to get misconducts right away for any shenanigans.

shenanigans... eeeevil shenanigans

Wouldn't mind seeing Martin sit and Despres called up. Asham is done so Park will probably remain. Maybe Jeffrey or Tangradi will get the call. Or both if Neal gets a game (he shouldn't IMO).

Tangradi has a crazy win-loss record this year. Playing him guarantees a win so he won't play.

What about Johnson in goal? I was expecting to see a thread about that but there's none. Fleury should be the backup.

We still got a chance to comeback IMO. I still believe anyway.

Honestly. You play to win. They were embarrasing enough yesterday. Admitting defeat in game four would only make it worse.

Hear me out...

Kunitz-Malkin-Neal (Hard to break them up)
Cooke-Crosby-Dupuis (Cooke will be good for at least 2 goals)
Sullivan-Staal-Kennedy (Sullivan plays well in limited minutes)
Tangradi-Vitale-Adams (I think Asham will be out...so fill with next best thing)

Letang-Engo (put the only 2 dmen who give a hoot together)
Niskanen-Michalek (decent 2nd pairing)
Orpik-Martin (severely limited minutes)

MAF
Johnson

Oh boy. Don't put in Big Mac. Lord knows that if we do, the Flyers will say we're trying to goon it up....

I like those lines and was surprised it was changed when it was clearly working. Staal needs a puck carrier and sullivan does well at that. sullivan needs someone to cover his ass where staal does well. Cooke dumps it in and can get the puck back. he is what Crosby needs right now. Sullivan and dupuis with Crosby just get the run around. Crosby is great at getting the puck into the dirty areas. That is right where dups and cooke live.

on the defence I would have engo with Niskanen and michalek with letang. orpik and martin ... they can watch for all I care.

I don't think there will be any changes other than Park staying in the line-up.

Bylsma has never really been a coach to make major adjustments. The best thing he could is to get the team to play more conservative and disciplined hockey, if he still can get through to the players.

I've only seen the Couturier hit, and I don't see how he gets suspended for that. Yes, it's charging but it didn't look like a head shot.

Asham is the only one that will be suspended. The "mandatory" 1 game for Adams and the instigator will be repealed because it was heat of the moment to protect Sid and not sending a message. No way Neal gets a suspension for anything. Flyers sold those up incredibly.

There was so much BS happening on account of the refs losing control I didn't even pay attention to who they iced on the final shifts.
If everyone looks closely, he looks up the ice to see if anyone is looking and all a sudden his legs get wobbly after, but he could control them right after the hit.

I would however change up the D.

Orpik, Letang
Niskanen, Michalek
Depres, Bortuzzo - maybe these two will hold the box during their(Flyers) PP, and their size will help keep the front of the net a bit more clear. DB has to take control of this. This also gets them some experience. What a load of crap this defense is.

I think i'd like to see that also. And put Tangradi and Vitale in for Asham & Adams.

While the Flyers might engage in more "diving" on Wednesday I don't think they'll start any ****. They want to go home to their own beds and spend a few days in their own facility resting/rehabbing. They don't want to have to fly to Pittsburgh again until next fall, and they have the power to make that a reality. I expect a very clean, intense, killer-instinct sort of effort.

yeah and he is adjusting his helmet and picking up his mouth guard, trying to do too many things at once. very glad he ducked, otherwise he could easily have another concussion

Kunitz - Malkin - Neal
Sullivan - Crosby - Dupuis
Cooke - Staal - Kennedy
Tangradi - Jeffrey - Vitale

Despres - Letang
Strait - Michalek
Niskanen - Engelland

Play Crosby and Malkin on the PK. Maybe Philly will actually back off a bit for fear of those two going the opposite way. We really need a change of momentum on special teams, and we can't possibly give up any more goals than we are already giving up.

Maybe I'm being a bit to radical with benching Orpik and Martin, but they have been a lighting rod for piss poor defensive play all year long. It won't happen, and even if it does, I doubt it will change anything, but at this point why the **** not?

I agree with your lineup except I think I would still play Orpik with Engelland. Bump Niskanen up to play with Michalek.

I like putting Tangradi and Jeffrey on the 4th. Some youth, give the lineup a different look even if minor.

Chances are either them or Despres get the call, unlikely except for possibly Tangradi with Asham likely out.

I guarantee if Dan benched Martin for game 4 he would cough up a list of teams to be traded to so fast it would make Sheros head spin.

This. Don't actually have to get hit in the head to get woozy for a second.

PIT will be without Craig Adams in game four. His instigator in last 5 minutes stands. Auto 1 game suspension. $10K fine for Dan Bylsma.
