Sweet deflection by Hamrlik on the Chara goal. Maybe we should put him in the slot on our PP.

I blame #21 for the Rolston goal, by the way. Gotta move the guy out or tie up his stick. That's the bottom line.

We need to follow Bruins' example and double our traffic in front of Thomas in Game 4. In our own end, we need to get back to the forcing everything to the outside and helping 70 by moving people out of the way in front of him. Major test of will on Thursday. I think we're going to rise to the challenge.

Sucks to have such a flukey goal lose a game for you... Hamrlik shouldn't feel sorry about that, he probably done it 10 thousand times in his career and that one just had to go into the wrong net.

Heard this stat in the first period so might not still be true but..

Jeff Schultz the only players through 8 periods of play to not have a hit. Seriously how? Honestly beyond pathetic I'm certain I would have had more than one even Jesus

Edit:::: fourth line had like 5 minutes collectively tonight,

Next game hopefully the lines get scrambled

8-21-25
28-19-90
26-83-20
85-15-42

27-74
44-52
81-6

Ideally I'd be fine with Erskine drawing in but for some beyond stupid reason he hasn't played in months. Just ****, but get that done Hunter

If he is, the league really will lose a ton of credibility. Shanahan has not done well with the job.

I'm proud as can be of the Caps with a couple of exceptions. Holtby is playing as well as I could've hoped. I didn't love the first goal but the kid isn't expected to bat 1.000. It wasn't soft but it was stoppable. The second goal was point blank. The D has to help him on that play. Laich and Rolston combined on the third. And Hamrlik deflected the game winner.

Ovie was very good. Semin was good. Backstrom was great. Stupid for the guys to stir up Lucic but I guess it's hard not to. Green looks really close to scoring 2 or 3 goals. Close doesn't count but I can't be unhappy with him.

Schultz is, of course, outmatched. Wideman needs Langway for a partner.

Boston played a great game and they caught the breaks. Congrats to them. Lace em' up again in a couple days.

This is some of the best hockey I've seen in years.

You guys think Hunter is trying to force Green into the PP QB role hes not very good at anymore?

Really would like to see Carlson be given the chance as the PP QB.

PS that cup check was nothing. Dive dive dive. I've never gotten hit in the balls and though, let me fall down to the ground and thrash them against my cup. Nor would if he didn't get hit in the testies and in the ab area, stay hunched over like that, would cause it to hurt more.

Fred, could you post up the supposed Semin dive, so people can see he had to fall in case it wasn't a penalty.

holtby has been fine. you cant win giving up soft goals like that first one though. particularly when you have worked hard to earn an in their heads position like he had there. they cant score on him. they are frustrated and he gave it away. that was a real factor in giving up 4 goals.

the b's go from gripping their sticks too tight and overthinking to just throwing pucks at the net which is where that winner came from. he sort of has to start from scratch again.

carlson on the pp. he had a lot of pp time this season and last with green missing so many games. the results are worse than some remember.

Good to see not a whole bunch of overreaction.

Last night sucked, but whatever, Game 4 is tomorrow, sunrise sunset.

but we have been told by posters here that we just dont see all the little things he does.....what was it again...."when you dont hear his name, he is doing his job"

55 is a marginal player with no upside.....brings zero in terms intangibles, and should have been gone during/after +50. Some of us have been saying it for at least that long

One of ESPN's headlines read "Bruins impose will on Caps". Do they even have anyone that watches the games?

Anyways, tough loss and hard to see the team recover from it tbh.

As much as i would love to see Orlov, and i think he would be more effective offensively, i want to see Erskine much much more, **** it, get suspended, but put some fear into Pinocchio and Hunchback.

I had a feeling the pressure of being at home may be in play. I mean, how long can you turn the other cheek at home, and look like wusses. Credit to Boston for dictating what happened out there and trying to impose their will on us. We are not built to scrum. Hell, I am not sure I even saw one real scrum the entire year. I did laugh when it was Alzner at the bottom of the scrum pile.

Erskine is our answer for if we feel the need to counter

Mr "I didn't Dive"

and of course

but he is rusty and doubt he gets in. Sarge and Aucoin have opened the door for changes. If we want to play rough with the B's, we should sit our 2 weakest players. I wish Dale had foreseen a rougher game coming. It was easy to predict.

OT I remember Randy Holt one time after getting cross checked in the back of the head by Tiger, had all three officials on top of him trying to restrain him. The pile was moving.

I am sure how the league handles reviewing something that resulted in a 2 minute minor and one that resulted in a match penalty are different though so I wouldn't be shocked if the 1 game suspension for a match penalty rule was adhered to.

I believe the match penalty would have to be rescinded and I don't really know how often that happens.

Proud of the boys. They played like I've wanted them to all season. This one just didn't go our way. And, yes, the officiating is absolutely brutal. Maybe they'll make up/ignore a bunch of stuff for us next game.

It's time to get 55 and Aucoin out for Orlov and Halpern. That is all.
