glad to hear they advanced! I won't be in Toronto this month or I'd go to one of these games. hope they can draw some support for the playoff run

The highest remaining seed in the conference after the first round takes on the lowest remaining seed in the conference. The other 2 teams face each other. I'm willing to bet the Marlies next opponent is the Abbotsford Heat. Though things can change very quickly.

I hope the stars align, and they're at home the weekend I'm in T.O. I'll bring the Rose City Rowdy with me.

Is that Tampa's farm team. Aulie vs the Marlies?

Tampa's farm team is the Admirals that went on that crazy streak of like 29 straight wins.

Heat is Calgary's farm team.

as others have said it's Calgary's, can see why it confused you though since aulie played for abbotsford before coming to toronto

Ah, I remember that now. It was mentioned on SNet's TD show.

Home ice advantage looking good for the Marls.

EDIT: removed incorrect statement about Admirals.

I thought Abbotsford would be a tough series for the Marlies. Hopefully Ross and the Winterhawks can continue their playoff run to keep Bartschi off their roster.

Hard to say since none of the other series in the West are finished, and 5-game series open up a higher possibility of comebacks.

The only team they can't play is Oklahoma (#1) IF they win.

If all the teams currently leading their matchups eventually won, the Marlies (Leafs) would play Abbotsford (Flames) and Oklahoma (Oilers) would play San Antonio (Panthers).

That series is tied 1-1 is not even in the same conference as the Marlies. Oklahoma City is the 1st seed in our conference and they are leading their series 2-1. Potentially we could play Abbotsford, if OKC, San Antonio, and Abbotsford wins their respective series.

Marlies 1st round vs Roch. disscussion.

i think the game day talk thread will get locked eventually so we should have a discussion about individual players on the Marlies and how you felt they performed in the first round against Rochester.

who did you like?

what surprised you the most?

who do you think will get a second look in terms of scouts, burke, or carlyle?

what do you expect in the next round?

please / thanks

for me? i can't say enough about Holzer. he is amazing out there. Leaf fans are going to love this guy next year. I wonder what changes will come with the Leafs' defense core, because Holzer threatens their positions and playing time.

Holzer should've been up with the Leafs for a few games after the deadline. I'm going to be pissed if he doesn't make the team next year. He's done everything possible to get a look, he's a beast out there.

The Marlies GDT is okay for series discussion. We're not closing it.

Or you could read through the Marlies thread to get peoples' input without the redundancy.

At least wait until the other thread is closed. :

They had a sell-out in game 2 and almost had a sell-out in game 1. The support is there.
