I'm never a fan when players skate by teammates to do their little celebration dance. It's like when you fist-bump somebody and they leave you hanging. It's a jackass thing to do.

Dallas Eakins on Kadri after the goal:

Quote:
“He was fired up,” Toronto coach Dallas Eakins said with a hint of pride. “Earlier, their guy finished his check with his stick up, knocked his teeth into his head and cut him. Naz was very upset, but our veteran guys were good about (calming him). I had a chat with him to take a breath.

“Nazem is always on the edge. He’s not just a skill player, he’s willing to throw his weight around. That really irritates the opposing team. When a smaller guy who is a skill guy is taking runs at you, that really pisses you off.”

Nice goal! You can tell Naz was pumped up way before the goal. He needs to tone it down to a fist pump. Walk the serious side.

Heart. Showing some damn heart. If more players showed some heart down the stretch, we could have been in the playoffs.

Sad that the Marlies sweep has been overtaken by overreaction over a goal celebration. Looking forward to how far the Marlies can go. Good experience for guys like Gardiner.

Hi guys. Just gotta say I'm not cool with having 3 different Marlies playoff game in one thread. Really hate having to scroll back to pick up where I left off last time.
That is all. Have a nice evening.

haha, but then again... I only just now realized that he series is over.
my bad, my very very bad

I disagree, we needed more talent, specifically in net.

Getting 8th in the East isn't the challenge. We held a playoff spot for most of the season. Mental toughness and lack of heart were our downfall in my opinion (obviously along with shoddy goaltending). Maybe the Leafs can learn something from the Marlies eh?

So, Oklahama is through to the 2nd round as well. They're the number 1 seed.

Marlies have a chance to play Chicago, Abbotsford, or Milwaukee in the 2nd round.

San Antonio is up 2-1 on Chicago, and if they go through, we play the winner of Abbotsford/Milwaukee (4,5 seeds).

With Abbotsford up 2-0, with 3 games to play at home, it looks like we'll be playing them. If Chicago wins their series, we play them.

No.
I missed that game.

I'd love to show my brother Kadri's goal. Anyone have a link where the camera isn't on the wrong side of the ice? I saw it on the Rochester feed and it was incredible. You can't even see Kadri's move with the one they have up on the Marlies site/youtube.

Kid loves to score! I liked Eakins' comment too! Kadri seems like he'd piss everyone off from the other team, just by playing his game. That's awesome if you can get the other team thinking about you like that even when you're just playing the way he plays.

Another thing to note is that Kadri scored that goal shortly after leaving the penalty box.

In his post game interview (it's on torontomarlies.com I think), he said he was being heckled pretty badly the whole two minutes in the box.

Add that to the fact he was cut by a high hit, and he had some pent up emotion that he released after scoring the goal.

Not a huge deal considering the circumstances!

I love it. Love the clutchness of the goal, and the context of the celebration. Love the agitation, and the physicality to back it up, and that it's backed up with skill. Loves to win, HATEs to lose. Love that in a player.
