Crosby: "Fans should be proud of us"

http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=628366

Quote:
Among Crosby's comments during a post-practice session with reporters Tuesday at Consol Energy Center:

* The Penguins don't regret the way they conducted themselves Sunday despite having Kris Letang, Craig Adams and Arron Asham ejected from a penalty-filled game in which they admittedly lost their composure at times.

"I think we're trying to do whatever we can to win hockey games," Crosby said.

* Their fans shouldn't be saying the Penguins embarrassed themselves while giving up eight goals for the second successive game and engaging in numerous fights, including one between Crosby and Flyers star Claude Giroux.

"They should have nothing to be embarrassed about," he said. "They should be pretty proud of the guys they have here. It's a terrible situation to be in, being down 3-0. But that's when you need your fans the most."

This is what happens when you rush a player back from a concussion.

Out of touch? Arrogant? Insane? Drunk? All of the above?

Edit: If I'm a Pens fan I'd be damned furious "Yeah, we lost our composure and we lost the game. But we don't regret that." So..if they had the chance to replay the game, they wouldn't do anything differently? No regrets?

I feel like everyones overreacting here...

The Penguins are obviously not going to apologize for what they did in Game 3, especially considering there's at least one more game left to be played. If they publicly accept what they did in Game 3 as 'wrong' then reporters will have legitimate proof (and write countless articles) that the Penguins have lost their minds in that game and the series as a whole.

But if they don't apologize and act like what they did was "normal" or just "Playoff Hockey" people will have less food for their articles, because everything after that becomes speculation.

Now comes Crosby's comment: a reporter keeps asking him questions about how he feels that Pens fans are "ashamed" and "embarrassed" by his team. What the hell is he supposed to say? He can't say he agrees with them because according to his team they did nothing wrong. If I were him I probably would have said "no comment" but he chose to respond which put him in a tough position.

I agree with the overreaction. Crosby could say he was happy about his team playing with chippiness NOT EVEN REFERRING TO THE DIRTY PLAYS and people would think he was putting a bounty on Giroux's head.

I don't like Sid at all, but come on. Stop reading into everything so much. What else is he gonna say?

One thing that has been on full display in this series. The leagues goldenchild does not handle losing very well. He is a spoiled little *****. Thats all he is. When things dont go his way you get what we all saw Sunday night.

If he was a Flyer saying that, we'd be talking about grit and never say die and, of course, the granddaddy of them all, "he hates to lose more than he likes to win".

He's challenging Richie as worst interview ever.

I agree it's not a big deal, it's just that hes choosing his words wrong. "They have NOTHING to be embarrassed about." Well sure they have a lot to be embarrassed about, he just needs to pick and choose his words better.
