All true fans should still believe. I guess it's cool to kick 'em when they're down -- easier to say "see, I told you so....".
But if you're on this board, you must have some shred of "Canuck fan" in you. Stand by your team. If not, keep your negativity to yourself, -- why bring those of us who choose to be positive and optimistic down??
It's an old cliche, but I've just been thinking about taking it one game at a time and it makes me feel a lot better about our situation. If we get Danny back and play like our backs are up against the wall, we can come out of Staples with a win tomorrow, and suddenly it's a 3-1 series and we're coming back home to Vancouver for Game 5 and the Kings have a seed of doubt in their minds.
Forget percentages of past teams in this situation, forget everything else. I'm confident that we can beat the Kings of any given night. One game at a time.

I really don't think he's going to play. I think he was brought down to bring the guys together in the room. His presence alone should be enough to propel this team to a win in Game 4.
The thing is, the Kings have been far from playing good hockey. I would say in these playoffs, the Canucks and Kings have been the two worst performing teams. Their wins have been at the hand of our own mistakes. If they were completely dominating games, then I would be less hopeful. One game at a time, that's the mentality the team has to take. It has been done before and it will happen again at some point in history.
Also, lift the puck off the ice! Quick is too good down low, but exposes the top two-thirds of the net!

Thats relatively wishful thinking. Daniel practiced with the team in Vancouver to little effect, having him sitting in the pressbox or in the dressing room does little for the on ice product. This team needs more than gimmicks to get it going.

The Canucks had the run of the play in Game 3. The Kings managed to do one thing incredibly well, and they've done it all series - and that's protect the front of the net. They're instantly there to clear away rebounds or prevent Canuck attackers from getting through to them. We're going to have to find a way to break through that in order to win.

IMO a lot of it is going to have to come off the rush. We cant have Kesler, or whoever getting across the line and stopping up or just shooting from the perimeter...we have to attack the line with speed, push the defense back and either drive wide and deep and look for a trailer or open point man, or just crash the net. Once they get setup in the defensive zone we're forced to the periphery .

If our D men didn't pinch so deep, the forwards wouldn't have to worry so much about covering them, which could help them have a better presence near the net. But that's kind of the foundation of our offensive cycling game, so I don't see AV changing that overnight.
You know the only thing that bothers me, is not really loosing (i would rather win but) what really sucks is the season if we loose wednesday is over. You invest 7 months monitoring and watching your team every night they play, and you cant wait for playoffs, and to watch playoff hockey, this is the pay off for watching all season, and then.... it maybe over in 4 games, especially when your unprepared for it.
And by unprepared I was not a fan who thought l.a. would be a cake walk, and after that luongo would lead us to the cup, at which point he would ascend into heaven.
But i was expecting a longer playoff run, and watching more entertaining games only your hockey team can deliver.
See I don't think that's the issue with me. There have been PLENTY of years I've invested 7 months in Canucks hockey only for them to have a quick first round exit, I was upset but not as much as I would be this year. Even last year the regular season was fantastic. This year the team adopted the mentality that it was all about the playoffs and that had a trickle down effect to their play and the fans watching. It would really be unfortunate if it was all for 1 week of hockey.
yes, the ONLY silver lining to an early exit would be sleep
these 1030pm eastern starts are killer ....dont get to bed til 1:30 (and that's w/o OT), then my kid wakes me up at 6am .... joy
8 weeks of that can drive one to drink, but it's a price id gladly pay...
LOL. You and I are in the same boat. Your kid must be, what, four or five by now, right? Still waking at 6?

Expectations tend to be raised slightly when you win the president's trophy
