So you're saying Stajan's great performance in the NHL last season should be less valuable than Wellwood's great performance in the AHL this season in the criteria for choosing who plays?

That's ridiculous, Stajan plays, Wellwood waits, no question about it.

Stajan and Wellwood both play when the season resumes in January of 2006.

My lineup would mean trading Antro, wilm and kaberle for tootoo but I think nashville would do it and we trade berg for a draft pick to reduce more salary.
:lol :lol

MINUS (Berehowsky, Francis, Fitzgerald, Johansson, Kidd , Marchment, Reichel, Renberg)

2004-05 TEAM (+29 Mil Cap)

Roberts -- Sundin -- Mogilny
Poni -- Nieuwendyk-- Antropov
Tucker -- Stajan -- Nolan
Domi -- Wilm -- Kilger
(Belak, Perrott)
Leetch -- McCabe
Kaberle -- Klee
Colaiacovo -- Berg
(Pilar)
Belfour
Telly

2004-05 Team would look like this at 28.5 mil over CAP..Total Salary 64 million.

****************

MINUS (Roberts, Nieuwendyk, Leetch, Mogilny)

2005-06 TEAM (+12 Mil)

Kukumberg -- Sundin -- Steen
Poni -- Wellwood -- Antropov
Tucker -- Stajan -- Nolan
Domi -- Wilm -- Kilger
(Belak, Perrott)

McCabe -- Kaberle
Colaiacovo -- Klee
Berg -- Pilar
(Hedin)

Belfour
Telly

Still 12 million over the legal Cap amount of 35 million Current Salary 47 million

****************

MINUS (Belfour, Nolan, Domi)

2006-07 TEAM (@ Salary Cap 35 Mil)

Kukumberg -- Sundin -- Steen
Poni -- Wellwood -- Antropov
Tucker -- Stajan -- Jeremy Williams
Mitchell -- Wilm -- Kilger
(Belak, Perrott)

McCabe -- Kaberle
Colaiacovo -- Klee
Berg -- Pilar
(Hedin)

Telly
Racine

Finally at a 35 Million Salary Cap and NO UFA

No when all the 2 year contracts are up can the Leafs resign their own at lower rates and begin UFA shopping ..

THis was the Post I was talking about ULF ..

I think reallistically this is what the Leafs lineup will look like when the NHL starts up again. That is if Mogiliny, Roberts, and Nieuwendyk don't retire. If these guys retire they would be replaced with free agents. I would also think they would pursue maybee Adam Foote or Chris Pronger who would UFA's. They would probably also pursue Eric Lindros, Jeff O'Neill, Paul Karia and Ziggy Plaffy. Not that they would get all or any of these guys. But these would be possible guys to replace retired Leafs.

Roberts - Sundin - Mogiliny
Tucker - Nieuwendyk - Nolan
Kilger - Antropov - Poni
Wilm - Stajan - Domi

McCabe - Kaberle
Pilar - Klee
Colaiacovo - Berg
Belfour - Aubin - Tellqvist

*Note no Leetch - I don't think he will return to the Leafs when the lockout ends.

Possible Leafs Lineup with UFA's

O'Neill - Sundin - Palffy
Tucker - Lindros - Nolan
Kilger - Antropov - Poni
Wilm - Stajan - Domi

McCabe - Pronger or Foote
Kaberle - Klee
Colaiacovo - Berg

Belfour - Aubin - Tellqvist

Sounds about right ...

See no real problem there .. Nothing out information wise that could currently contradict that

.. unless the NHL sees a problem with $65 million dollar Team Salaries in the future ..
probably nothing .. This Salary Cap is probably just a bad dream anyway ..
