Well since my avs are too good this year, I thought I'd learn more about potential prospects of theirs. I liked what I saw from him in the WJC but I would like to know if he has any holes or weaknesses in his game. Thx in advance.

Also if anyone knows where I can watch some game for free? That would be lovely.

I understand what you're saying, but at the same time I don't think it matters how many appearances he makes compared to Drouin. It's about how he handles himself and the situation during it.. Would you rather take the guy who makes 100+ appearances a year, but is a complete ******* during them... or the guy who makes 10 a year and treats the fans like their part of his family?

In saying that, im not implying that MacKinnon is an *******... I've never met the guy, nor heard any stories about him.. I'm sure he's a great person!! Drouin seems to have a great relationship with him, that's for sure!!

which is in reference too...

Watched almost all of his games as a Moosehead, most home games live in Halifax.

In my opinion he has no holes in his game

If I was to nitpick I would say less than ideal size and his shot could be improved.

I don't see either as an issue though because he plays so smart that size doesn't play much of a factor in his game, he has that elusive factor. Also, I saw an interview with Brian Burke who was saying his dad and brother are currently taller so there still may be some growth there.

His shot has improved but is not a rocket like Mackinnon or Frk. This is something that can always be improved with strength and practice anyway.

As for watching mooseheads games, they are available archived on Telus website for $2/game but not sure if it's available in the US

Hat trick in his first game without MacKinnon. One goal on the power-play, one goal on the PK and one goal at even strength...

The game was incredibly sloppy for everyone until that play. For a second I was complaining about Drouin's sloppy pick up. But the way he transitioned with the puck completely caught Ogilny and myself off guard which would lead to him blowing Ogilny away.

I was wondering how Drouin would perform without MacKinnon and he was easily the best player on the ice along with Fucale. Saturday's game will be an interesting test against Moncton for him. They're a much better club then PEI and Shawinigan.

What? I think most have known and talked about him since the beginning of the year, some even last year when he was still with the Lions..

If JD comes back and leads this league in scoring by the end of the season, well, wow......could be what puts him over the top.

He stood out amongst the other Mooseheads. He played on both teams, encouraging the kids by showing off his fancy stick handling and getting them involved in the game. When a kid fell over he helped them up, when a kid scored he cheered like it was a gold medal goal. He jumped back and forth between two games played cross ice with a lot of energy. Last year he spent a couple of minutes speaking with my 4 year old at the end of the game with great enthusiasm. Today he traded sticks with a little guy and played with his stick, the kid forgot about the puck and skated around showing off Drouin's stick to his friends and coaches.
There is more to a franchise player than his ability to score or body check. Drouin is of great character. After Seth Jones' comments at the world junior I see some attitude in him. As for MacKinnon, he was mysteriously absent from last year's Tim Bit jamboree and again this year. I know he is injured but he could have made an appearance in the kids dressing rooms for a meet and greet. Last year he just didn't show up.
What ever team gets Drouin will have a great PR/community relations asset and a 50 goal high light reel sniper.
See some Giroux similarities

End of the first period against Shawinigan.. Score is 2-0, Drouin has a goal.
I can see this ending 5-1, with Drouin having 2g 1a.

Not just a goal...but a 1 on 3 rush where it looks like he should easily be stopped...but instead, he walks thru them to score. And it is now 4-0 only 5 min into the 2nd period. Drouin still with 1 point.

Now I definitely wish I was able to watch the game..... Shawinigan only has 1 more shot than we have goals, sad.

One of the nastiest goals I've seen from him.

But I thought he wasn't as good without MacKinnon....

2 games

4 goals
1 assist

/that thought.

So with MacKinnon out is Drouin playing center? Who are his linemates?

I don't watch much junior hockey but what you guys are saying is pretty impressive.
