Oh yes, the logic.

I feel this discussion is redundant anyway. No way Carl Söderberg is an Olympic player. And he's not a 4th liner.

I believe Söderberg was aware he did something wrong. However, he's has remained longer in Sweden than most other talented players and has extinguished himself in more ways than one. It was now or never for Carl to go. He did weaken our chances at worlds, though. Don't even remember who had to play center instead... And...WC would have been a good window for him. What makes me free him rather than not is that the Boston organization needed him and surely put some pressure on him.

Is Mårts trying to do too much at the same time? This should have been handled by someone else.

I can see him making it. Could possibly play on Backstrom's wing with Zetterberg if he has a really good season. Mårts seems to like him as well, he did really well in that EHT tournament during the lockout. Not sure if he's a player for the bottom lines though, that might be to his disadvantage but there is one winger spot open in the top 6 (if they put Backstrom and Zetterberg on the same line). Alfredsson and Franzén are also competing for that spot.

Big ice speaks to MoJo's advantage I think. But he's still a scoring line player and I'm not sure we have room for him on a scoring line. On my team he doesn't.

Playing with Ovie and Bäckström should generate mor points than he managed last season. Good start this year!

Perhaps, depends on how he does this season, id say he competes with Hagelin, Stålberg, Backlund, Johansson, Zibanejad, and Lindberg for a spot.

Would love to see him hit a high standard of play this season, not the least considering 2010... Might be wishful thinking though, how does he look now, anybody?

Micke Samuelsson still have his groin problems. It looks like he going to start next game though.

Sample size is too small still I would say to give any grades, except the note that he seem injury prone.

I think Brodin has to be playing his way onto this squad. Thoughts?

He could ad certainly if you calculate with some injuries. I could see it something like this:

1st tier
Erik Karlsson
Niklas Kronwall
Tobias Enström
Alexander Edler
Oliver Ekman-Larsson
Niklas Hjalmarsson
Victor Hedman

2nd tier:
Jonas Brodin
Adam Larsson
Carl Gunnarsson
Jonathan Ericsson
Anton Strålman
Johnny Oduya

Interesting, I'd have him only clearly behind Karlsson, Kronwall, and OEL at this point and maybe a bit behind Enstrom and Edler. I think he's a better option than Hedman and Hjalmarsson though, just my opinion.

It is a tight race. Sweden have never had such a great squad of D-men before. If Brodin plays well and someone I rank above hm play better then he is in.

1. He's 6'2" and weighs in at 205 lbs. In that regard he's star material.
2. He's defensively aware.
3. He has the ability to put up points.
4. He's a good puckhandler. The puck almost feel it's good handled.
5. He's a playmaker.
6. He can deke out a defenseman.
7. He works very hard.
8. He's a leader and leads by example.
9. Aware he is, especially defensively. (All from eliteprospects.com)
0. Even on a fourth line he gets in the paper.
