I like Ullstrom. I think he's a legit candidate + there's some Marts connection there. He has everything you strive for on a 4th line. I don't think many have watched him play.
Probably won't be, but that doesn't change the fact that he's way overrated. There's a reason why he was always 2nd pairing in Detroit, and now they're struggling with him as the top dog.
I don't fear Malkin but I'm afraid of him...and the big ice surface...and that damn Perezhogin...and that Franzén can't keep his cool, and that Sedins yet again will get the 12th forward as right winger and that they just decide to shut the defensive zone down, KHL defensemen that seem to come from nowhere. Add a fanatic home crowd and Putin hot doggin' at the best seats.
We must have a team that can BEAT the Russians IN Russia.
It looks so good on paper, Team Sweden having the best goalie and defensemen ever. WE must be the feared team!
Should we scare them with talent or size? Brodin, Larsson, Enström or Grossman, Ericsson, Tallinder
That's frightening for other teams if Sweden is carrying both Kronwall and Grossman. They are going to run over anyone they can regardless of ice size.
Sweden have too many quality D-men. It's amazing that guys like Grossman and ENSTRÖM aren't locks on everyone's teams..
Especially Enström. Grossman is quite one-dimensional, but he could certainly be just what we need, considering the fact that we'd lack consistently physical, crease clearing defensemen.
I think mobility will be key on the bigger ice surface though, so I would probably pick Karlsson, OEL, Kronwall, Edler, Hedman and Enström. Then possibly Grossman, Hjalmarsson or even S. Kronwall as the seventh. Adam Larsson and/or Brodin could definitely play their way onto the team by 2014 too. In fact, I would love for Adam to break out because he's a righty which a defense like mine would otherwise lack outside of Karlsson.
Forwards
Sedin-Sedin-Franzén. Hopefully Franzén is somewhat in form becouse the twins really need someone who both can create space, go to the net and take a shot.
Zetterberg-Bäckström-Eriksson. Need Z on the wing. Hopefully this line can take enough space to be effective.
Thörnberg-Steen-Alfredsson. This will be an elite two-way line.
Stålberg-Lundqvist-Landeskog. Could just as well have Hörnqvist here, these are supposed to check and create minor havoc although their ice time will be small.
Hörnqvist
Defense
OEL - Karlsson. Enough offense to support a possible minor weakness defensively.
Hedman - Kronwall. We put these on opponents top lines.
Enström - Hjalmarsson. 2nd or 3rd pairing i dont know, everybody will get to play much.
Edler: Too good combination of size and offense to pass on.
We need to compensate what i would say mediocre goalscoring for our forwards with defensmen.
For sure. Probably not for our D:s but we sure got some work cut out for us putting the bisquit in the basket, assist for them we can but who the hell will score the goals? I believe our classic swedish style of play will keep us close by controlling the play deceptively but we need to win the games as well, especially when it matters.
Sedin-Sedin-Steen (Steen could be a good Burrows replacement)
Zetterberg-Bäckström-Eriksson
Stålberg-Berglund-Franzen (the 6'3" line)
Landeskog-Zibanejad-Silfverberg (youthful enthusiasm line)
Alfredsson (mostly for PP, brings experience etc)
