People talk about how the SeaDogs will be awful next year but what about Shawinigan ??? What do they have left ??

Who are they losing ?

Saint John and Shawi will be Mem Cup buddies this year... And next year, they'll continue their friendship at the bottom of the league

Hache, Gormley, Ellis, Girard, Morin, Bournival, Kabanov (likely) and Chaput (likely)

Then they can only keep three of...
Le Sieur
Pourdrier
Sakaris
Arseneau
Narbonne

And I believe Sakaris is gling somewhere, if not, add him to the 20's list above.

In short, they should be pretty bad.

I'd be willing to bet that Saint John places higher than Shawinigan next year, and that SJ makes the playoffs. Any takers???

It's the QMJHL, even with Sherbrooke's addition, only two teams won't make the playoffs.

There should be enough residual talent left in both Shawinigan and Saint John that they'll both see the post season.

Of course!

The Dogs will make the playoffs, but as I said I think the residual talent in SJ will be greater than in Shawinigan. We'll know the total layout after the draft but Shaw spent a ton And a half at the deadline.

I repeat shawinigan will be dead last next year and wont make the playoffs.

The only asset remainding to trade is zlobin.

Sj might make them if ipe is still pretty bad.

Sherbrooke we dont have a clue yet but with first overall and 5 overagers they should be decent.

Drummond is sub par now

Both abitibi teams will be competitive too, as will chic bc victo rim bat mon and gat.
All these teams ranks will depends on draft moves. They can go in any orders.
Then there is the consensus top 3 of quebec and halifax and bb.

Sherbrooke should be decent? When the Sea Dogs broke in they finished dead last with 38 points. I know they broke in with St John's so the 20s got more diluted, but they did have #1 overall pick.

thing is this year the league will be overflown with quality overagers and Sherbrooke have the right to sign 5.

Heck our captain of this year will probably end up there.

I see in them a bottom tier team but definately above Shawinigan.

Here is team rankings up to now with the info I have.

1-Halifax
2-Québec
3-Blainville
4-Moncton
5-Victoriaville
6-Chicoutimi
7-Bathurst
8-Gatineau
9-Val d'or
10-Baie-Comeau
11-Rimouski
12-Rouyn
13- Cape breton
14- Drummondville
15-Sherbrooke
16-saint John
17-IPE
18-Shawinigan

4 to 13 are really interchangeable it will all depends of the moves.

Riki, BC, higher, Victo MCT lower imo.

But it's very early so it doesn't really matter..

Yes it is highly speculative.

Rimouski if they lose mallet will have zero offense and very young g and defs though.

In terms of playoffs .. Everyone had Victoriaville making out of the second round and some even thought theyd make it to the finals against Saint John. As far as regular season .. Baie Comeau was in a very tough division and looked lilke they were going to finish higher at the begining of the season..

Baie Comeau was like 8-2 or something right ?

I was kinda surprised to see BC upset them Tigres.
