Good for him. Maybe he can relax and enjoy the game for a change. Come home, drop 15 pounds, knock 'em dead next year.

Good for him. Hopefully he finds his game again under such different surroundings. Hopefully the experience is a positive one and we benefit next year. Same for the other Leafs who made national teams. Too bad Kessel prefers to eat donuts. But then his experience in the Olympics wasn't exactly a positive growth one.

Kessel had a wrist injury for the last few weeks of the season.

Some ahead of him declined perhaps but it's still good for him and hence for us.

Kessel for his Team USA teammates. It's interesting stuff.

Congrats to Luke too, I hope this helps him find his game. Ironic that Team Canada could be the reduced pressure envirnment that will let him get back to form!

There's so much wrong with this comment.
If someone wanted a closer look at Schenn they would've watched him during the season and it's Luke's call whether he wants to go or not

Do you think another GM called Burkey and asked him to ask Luke to go?

I'd prefer him not to go - focus on getting fitter and stronger in the off-season + get a good amount of rest in.

But whatever - it can't hurt him. As some are saying, it's what he needs in order to find some confidence in his game again. Plus, you can never begrudge a player wanting to represent his country.

Good luck Luke

Good for Luke but will he be exploited on the bigger ice surface? He is not the fleetest of foot. I hope he does well and remains a Leaf. If he ever gets quicker, he will be a good hardnosed D. I just think he is a little slow. Perhaps something he could work on. Fanbase is too harsh on the kid, IMO...although it was a weak season from him. He certainly wasn't alone.

your lack of understanding is frightening ...here is a hint, the GM of the team holding the 1st overall pick who need a d-man more than another sniping winger and are rumoured to be willing to consider offers for the 1st overall pick has just invited the Leafs Schenn to join the team, where, maybe, and just maybe he can be exposed to him in a not 'tampering' manner and see both what type of man he is, and what type of player.

...okay, that was more than a hint.

Not bad at all Holmes....but will Burke and Lowe ever make a deal again? Have they buried the hatchet or is Burkie still wating for Lowe to go barn hunting? hehehehe

Don't worry, Schenn will be replaced by whoever the Leafs end up drafting at #5 this June as the new whipping boy. Leafs fans turn on young players way too quickly.

Burke just gets Nonis to deal with everyone who has a grudge against him ...so, Nonis does 1/2 the deals LOL

Hmmm, it seems that hockey Canada has identified value in Schenn. Perhaps this means that he is valued by the hockey community? He had an off year this year, but who on the leafs blue line didn't have a poor defensive year? Schenn should not be traded....Carlyle is gonna bring out the best in this kid!

Awesome!

That means Komi's value is off the charts too, he's been playing for team USA at the worlds ... since forever.

Hope the hockey community sees the value that we see in Komi, so we can trade him for Yakupov.
