It's fairly common to get knocked out getting hit in the chin and whiplash action in the neck. Possible he was knocked out without concussion. Your body just goes lights out when that happens.

Kings fan here but, Hawks my 2nd fav. Saw that hit and it was horrible. Hossa has always been a hard working clean player. Can't say the same for that Torres.
Hope Hossa will be ok. That was real scary to watch.

I hope Hossa is ok. They should have let Bollig destroyed Trorres once and for all.

get well soon Hoss...

Torres is a POS and will do this every now and then. The league has to take care of players like him. Cooke got the message, Carcillo looks like he wasn't as stupid as before and he let headshots go - but still has some more work to do in that regard. Torres is next but for me, he's worse.

I expect nothing to happen like last year. The NHL will do everything they can to keep them in the series/POs and make them look like somebody would care about the Yotes. Really, that's the least team that anybody cares, needs or likes. Franchise should have been sold 2 years ago - and moved

Hope hossa gets well soon. Hope they throw the book at Torres, but the Neal ruling doesn't make me believe Torres gets what he deserves.

I for one hope they don't throw the book at Torres, I would rather see them throw a one-way plane ticket to Europe's league at him with a note saying he is never welcome in the NHL again. Unlikely though, I see 4 games on the low end, 8 games on the high end.

Glad to see Hossa is out of the hospital, guess it isn't likely to be considered career threatening. Depends if you call a concussion career threatening though (if he has one).

Neal's hit is nothing compared to Torres', which was late + charging + headshot, then throw in his past and we should be seeing a lengthy suspension.

Kings fan here, I pray Hossa is doing well, I saw the hit and wow what a despicable hit.

Hopefully, Shanny redeems himself and throws the book at that POS Torres, he needs to be driven out of the league.

I just hope he's OK. I was shaky as he laid there on the ice.

I'm so glad to hear Hossa is okay. I am cheering for the Coyotes (but I still like the Hawks!), but I hope Torres gets the book thrown at him. I've never liked him.

They're actualy pretty similar. Boh are charging, both are late, both left their feet, both made head contact. Both have pasts, though torris is significantly worse.

That's neither here nor there, I hope he's good.

Good luck to you guys.

Torres is the biggest dirt bag in the league. Hope he gets remainder of the playoffs plus 10 games next season with his history.

Thought I heard on ESPN that Hossa is out of the hospital, so at least that's somewhat positive. I think you can get by PHX without him if he's hurt, and that could give him enough time to be ready for the next round.

If he ends up getting less than Shaw, I will flip!

Heard he is OK. Hope it's only whiplash and precautionary measures.

I only wonder what would have happened tonight if he was there!

Stuff like this has no place in hockey. We all love good physical play but this wasn't that. Just a dirty cheap shot.

Get well hoss

He may have been released, but concussion-like symptoms don't always happen right away. The day or two after the incident is going to decide Hossa's fate and how bad his concussion is (if he has symptoms at all, and I'd think he would possibly have some).

What a heart stopping moment. After it happened it seemed stupid to focus on a sporting event with one of our guys in the hospital. Glad he walked out on his own and hope he gets better soon.

Too bad Hossa couldn't simply hang out in the hospital with some NHL 12 to keep him company to lengthen Torres' suspension

Bruins fan who has always liked the Hawks (like many Bruins fans I know)....hope Hossa is ok; not surprised it was Torres, he is a predator who plays that type of game- he is the master of lurking and then coming in borderline late when the defender is in a vulnerable position. I was at all Final home games and sit second row behind Bruins goal they defend twice and always kept an eye on this clown because of the style he plays. Lucky for Boston he was spooked a bit after the San Jose series when he pulled this crap and did not really do it much against the Bruins.

What a dirt bag and hopefully he is gone for the playoffs- if you want get a small consolation, he tried this on the Bruins earlier this year and McQuaid came in and blooded his ugly mug.

exactly, McQuaid got hit by Chimra a couple of weeks ago, felt ok, came back, played the first period against the Sens the Thursday the final week of regular season games came off the ice not feeling right, and hasn't been on the ice since.

No doctor but if he is back after that I'd be surprised. What a hit from that clown train.
