Day game after a night game with a late night bus ride involved as well. I would think that unless McGill was REALLY upset with Lundmark, Balej, and Murray, he would put them in for fresh legs. (Gillies hasn't played lately, but I don't know if he's a scratch or hasn't recovered from his hand injury.)

Part of what McGill has been doing is carrot-and-stick for players he expects more from, but he also wants to rotate players in and out of the line up for freshnes because of the brutal stretch of schedule the pack is in (7 games in 10 days). That being said, it seems a little unfair to Charlotte for McGill to hoard 3-4 healthy scratches while the Checkers play undermanned.

Still, Manchester isn't a team I'd look for Balej to get his offensive game back on track against.

What bad luck...

Betts scores a shortie, and during the same PP, the Monarchs score a goal [and then one about 20 second later with one minute left]. Those goals at the end of the period are killers!

So I gues....

Moore's been moved to the fourth line. Glad to see a couple goals being scored against Garon.

Hamilton..

from Helminen and Weller with a minute left in OT..'Pack win...four goals against the best AHL team and an NHL quality goalie with Labarbera-type numbers (from last season). Lundmark, Balej who?

Great win! Sounds like this was a great game. Good for McGill sticking to his guns keeping Jozef and Jamie scratched. That should teach them a lesson and also send a message to his team.

And the best part, the team responded well.

oh man, coming from behind and beating the best team in the league. and at the same time, teaching two other guys a lesson, i love it. look at Jed, showing up on the score card quite a bit lately.

(Did this lose snap the monarchs win streak)?

Now that the Pack have passed a big weekend test, I have no compunction about pushing them for #4 in the AHL power poll I'm running over on the Poll Board. Rhey're losing to Edmonton, so come on over and vote.
