No-Superstar Deal for your team

What player does your team need..? But not a superstar.. only a player that can fill a huge hole..?

To Mtl : Matt Cooke + Malik
To Vancouver : Alex Perezhogin + Rivet

Why? Mtl needs GRIT...

It's not a bad trade but I wouldn't be ready to give Perezhogin for Cooke...

What about this: Cooke and Malik for Bulis, Rivet and a 3rd round pick.

Don't touch Bulis...! He will breakout! We have Perez, Plekcs, Higgins, Hossa... so I think we can give one of them to bring more grit

For only Tucker?

What would be fair to you?

You didn't watch how Atlanta played when Sutton returned?! He's like the Adam Foote of Atlanta... And they've got another version of Tucker : Petrovicky..

To Atlanta : Stajan
To Toronto : Sutton

I've seen Andy Sutton a lot... that's why I even brought him up. He's one of my favourite defensemen in the NHL. It's not as if I just saw his name on NHL.com and made a proposal.

No... no.......... and no.
And i know why... Because Sutton, in a Leaf shirt, would only be the 4th d-men.. But his value is much higher, playing with Atlanta, maybe Antropov.. but don't think so

He'll be 30 soon... so you won't get any 20-25 promising forwards for him.

Tucker for Sutton would be a great deal for both teams... but I didn't take into consideration Atlanta's needs really, because I don't care until somebody points it out.

If it's a defenseman they need... no dice.

If Antropov's so promising, why a big part of Leafs fans wants to trade him?
Atlanta gets a big centerman that can produce, and Toronto gets a very very good overall d-men... and hey.. at 30 years old it's great to be a Leaf..! Underrated like him, I think the Leafs have the $ to pay him...

Because Leaf fans are frustrated and not used to being patient with young players as they go through the bumps in the road.

Calgary's in need of a scoring winger, and a defenseman with a big point shot, who preferably shoots right.

We have an abunance of 3-4th line players, Left Wings, centers and defensive defensemen. I'll list some guys we could part with if a good deal came up:

Decent or low Trade Value:
Eric Nystrom
Dustin Boyd
Aki Seitsonen
Tim Ramholt
Toni Lydman
Andrew Ference
Jason Weimer
Martin Gelinas
Roman Turek
Ville Nieminen
Chris Clark

Fillers:
Anders Erikkson
Mike Commodore
Steve Montador
Byron Ritchie
Lynn Loyns

You offer me a trade.

this one has been brought up a billion times, but it's just that good for both teams:

to NAS: Todd White
to OTT: Vladimir Orszagh

Nashville desperately needs another center, and White is solid defensively and can chip in 15 goals. Meanwhile, they bleed off a RW, which they have too many off. Ottawa needs a gritty lunchpailer that can chip in offensively in a similar manner. Could play anywhere between the second and fourth line effectively.

I would send TOR either Sharp or a 2nd for Tucker, but certainly not both. Patrick Sharp is developing very nicely. Besides, I doubt these two teams would deal with each other.

Better safe than sorry when making proposals for your home team.

True, but he is a player that can fill a need on our team. I wasn't really shooting for realism.

Yeah, you are correct. A third line agitator who might pot you 16 or 17 goals while taking some silly penalties is certainly worth a top prospect AND a high pick!
