Not confirmed, but he isn't in the morning skate, that speaks volumes.

Depending on what style McLean wants I'm good with either Carks or Gilroy.
I like Gilroy's game and think he deserves to play. his pinches and rushes have given the O a huge boost and every game he plays now he gets better and more confident.

Only my speculation, but if he can't even participate in morning skates, then he can't be very close to coming back anytime soon.

Wasn't aware that he wasn't participating. Damn.

Gilroy may be playing better, but he still eats babies. Let's not forget that.

Coaching staff, cracking under pressure,

putting Greening-spezza-Michalek back together

NO MORE SPEZZA AND MICHALEK!

swap michalek and butler quickly please. use your memory

Greening-Spezza-Butler (used to be awesome while butler was playing like THIS)
Foligno-Turris-Michalek (was awesome the ONE game they played together)

If we lose, it will be because of this.

It'll probably be the same forwards as last game, and Carkner in for Gilroy.

I'm ok with Carkner drawing back in, but I don't think it's a coincidence that the game we won this series was the game where we played 5 D. Both Carkner and Gilroy are liabilities out there.

I'd do Hoffman-Spezza-Michalek, try something to get these 2 going cause they really suck

I think you have to leave Butler, Turris and Foligno together. That was a great line last game. Unfortunately that leaves no real options for Spezza other than Michalek. Greening has been horrible, and is stickhandling a grenade out there, so I'd go another direction as far as the 3rd man goes.

So you bench Carkner.

I'd rather have Carkner dressed than Gilroy.

You just limit his minutes. Use him on the PK and some 5 on 5 time, but maybe not a regular shift.

greening was awesome last game and we can't just have one good line. We need 2 good lines. the swap i posted does that. Michalek and spezza have done nothing this playoffs other than show that they cannot play together. Does anyone remember even one good play between them?

With all that said, it is just the practice lines and may just be the starting line up. They'll surely get juggled. Hopefully he juggles those combos in for a bit. So yeah, i'm over reacting.

Splitting up Michalek and Spezza would be the true definition of cracking under pressure.

I still don't know how this team minus Alfie is able to actually outplay the Rangers in the playoffs...

Hopefully they can pull out a win tonight.

The Senators have been their best this year with their backs to the wall, and down 2-1 without Alfie it isn't much more back to the wall than this.

Gilory has been fine in this series. Good competent journeyman D. I want Carkner because he is more physical and the Rangers have been way to effective behind the Senators net.

If you are going to take Smith off of center and put him on a wing, which isn't a good idea as he is great at face offs, at least put him on a wing with Turris, as that line could use some muscle and size.

I foresee another game of lines in constant flux.

We are 0-3 without Alfie in the line-up in the playoffs.

We have to break the goose egg at some point.

Plus he could take the draws for Turris, who has struggled with that.
