It's no secret Tampa needs a goaltender and help on D, and it's no secret that LA has an extra goaltender and some good Dmen. Let's make a deal!

To TBL:
Bernier
Voynov

To LAK:
TBL 1st Round 2012 (10th Overall)
Ryan Malone (assuming he waives his NMC)

How close are we? Malone is a gritty scoring winger and prototypical power forward. It feels a bit much from LAK, so what would we have to add? Or what about Det 1st and Connolly for the same package?

What's the price? Or another Dman instead of Voynov (sorry... just really like the guy).

No Voynov, the Kings love him otherwise they wouldn't have traded Johnson.

The first interests me, however I do not like Malone on the kings. he would be penner 2.0.

Bernier, Voynov, 2013 2nd
for
2012 1st, purcell

You guys really want Purcell back? Hmm....

It's a hefty price, but I don't think I hate that trade too much. Voynov is top 4 with top pairing potential... don't know if we can replace Purcell's production though.

****, if I'm Tampa, I say yes if you throw in a 7th

Please stop. A package of Bernier and Voynov would only be used to bring in a top flight player

what's worng with a 30 goal scoring LW and a top 10 draft pick. Lots of d-men in this year's draft to get a replacement for Voynov.

First of all, Purcell was dumped by Lombardi and his career high is 24 goals, which makes him a 15 goal scorer with the Kings. Secondly, we are in a win now mode, not trading for futures. We waited four years for Voynov to develop and we are not about to trade him for a draft pick that might fill his skates several years down the line.

That doesn't help when you're in a win now mode. It's like all the futures for Staal... A proven young player is good. A top pick is also good... it just doesn't help them for 2-5 yrs down the road...

Good lord. Bernier is not worth what Kings fans want for him. He has 40 games of NHL experience FFS. He has potential to be amazing, but Im sure as hell not spending proven NHL talent and first rounders galore to get him.

IF LA locks up Quick long term, and have a good idea of picking up a vet backup in UFA, I dont see why they would hang on to him when they could gain other assets.

TB: Bernier
LA: Detroit 1st, Philly 2nd

The end.

How about a 3 way with the Sabres? They have extra D-men, and what we really need is Vanek, not an imitation Vanek like Penner or Malone or Purcell.

TBL:
Bernier
Sekera
LAK 2012 3rd round pick

LAK:
Vanek

BUF:
Malone
Loktionov
10th overall pick 2012
LAK 1st 2012 or 2013, depending on which CBJ takes

LA does not have salary space for Vanek

I basically agree. Things might be different if Kings can set up a second deal for a top pick, such as Martinez and the 10th overall for 4th overall from the Islanders. Someone like Forsberg could help immediately. Imagine if Landeskog was with the Kings in place of Dwight King. He was more than an impact player in his first season for the Avs. The very top picks can help win now, but a 10th overall can't.

Penner+Stoll=$7,850,000 this year. Vanek=$7,142,857.

Cap will probably go up. Gagne could stay on the IR.

It does depend on how much Quick gets and how much the cap goes up by.

We need to sign Quick, no place for Vanek's $7,142,857. Also we do not have 2012 3rd round pick

Don't think it matters cause even if the cap was worked out, Buffalo gets shafted here...

They're giving up their best player/bonafide 1st line winger and a top 4 dman and all they get back is a bunch of picks and a few scrap players that don't fit on their teams.

You'd have to switch Sekera for Leopold or Morrison IMHO.

I think you got to forget about Voynov and Bernier being available is a stretch. No reason why LA would want to move him.

Try one of the below options instead.
1) Sign Harding or Vokoun or
2) Bring Khabibulin back
3) Trade for Tim Thomas
4) Trade for Luongo (IMO VL for Luongo is still a good deal for both teams)

Then sign Clemmenson or Biron as your backup.

What if another deal was set up to trade up from the 10th overall/12th overall and Nashville/LA picks to get a top, big, skilled center in the draft? Or even two of them?

I thought your extras were prospect/young defensemen and your weaknesses were centers with skill and/or size and wingers with size. I don't claim to know your team's needs as well as you do.

I miss the days when your third line was Vanek-Roy-Afinogenov. That was fun! Loktionov might not fit in in LA, as it is where offense goes to die...he is more available than Voynov for sure, maybe more than Bernier.

Isn't Leopold much, much better than Morrison?

If you took out one of Connolly/Namestnikov and replaced with a 2nd/lower tier prospect, I'd be about this. Don't know if LA would bite though.

Bernier, Voynov
For
#10, one of Connolly/Namestnikov and choice of #40/Nikita Nesterov, Helenius, Janus, etc.

From Kings POV I will stick to my original proposal:
Bernier, Voynov
for
#10, Connolly and Namestnikov
Tampa badly needs good goalie and Voynov already proven commodity.
It may be small overpayment, but Kings needs this deal less than Tampa
