Hey Colts fans, simple question (maybe). Who is a more NHL ready player, Scheifele or Telegin?
Telegin...has the size and NHL level speed. He also dominated for a good 6-8 weeks. We're talking best player on the ice, scoring 27 goals in his last 28 games (and he was injured coming back from the WJC). Mark has the higher ceiling, but Ivan has the benefit of being a year older and having played three OHL seasons with playoff runs. He seemed to get stronger as the year went on, where Mark seemed to have another mid-season slow down and the grind wore on him (I think we saw this as played games 70+ this year in St. John's). Both have some work to do in terms of protecting themselves for NHL level hits (Ivan cutting across the middle, Mark in the corners).
Having said all that, both should probably do a year in the AHL. As Ivan is AHL eligible this season, if one of the two are going to make it the NHL this year I guess it would be Mark.
Amazing to see a guy like Sutch playing Minor Midget just a few short years ago to now going into his final year in the OHL. Wow, time flies. Good luck to him I think he can be an asset to a team and would agree he could use some top 6 minutes and help push some needy team towards the playoffs.
Could have been a "rental player", speaking of OC that is. More and more players these days are traded to a team at the deadline then are either pro, traded again, or out of the league. Havent been on in awhile, what are the rumblings in Colts Country!? Lots of OA's still.
All quiet in Barrie land. Thought we would see a move or two by now. Moving up in the import draft. 92 and a 94 to the Bulls?
Interesting, what do you know about the 92 and 94 to the bulls? Recent rumours were Sutch to the bulls but who is the 94? Maybe Bell or Bradford? What about the connection of Zach Hall, home town is Belleville? could he be the other player? What would the Colts get in return? What are there needs?
To Barrie: 9th import pick, 3rd round pick in '12.
To Peterborough: O'Connor, Sutch.
Might seem like its way in our favour but the 9th import pick is drawing a LOT of interest. And the 3rd would basically be a swap for Sutch.
Yeah, it does seem that way. I would hope the Colts would get more than that. The way I see if you break it down as Locke for Camara, that means that the Colts gave up 3 seconds and Windsor for O'Connor. I would hope to get a couple of second rounders back if they deal him after a 3 month rental.
Hearing anything lately on moves Racer? Would have thought we would see some action by now.
There has been some talk. Teams are calling about OA's and one 94.
The Colts are kind of in a holding pattern right now. I wouldn't expect much of anything until around camp. People are expecting a lockout. And are anticipating what this would do to the league. There could be some big fish out there on the market if there is one. And as a result it may change the landscape.
They fully expect to be a top team (the best In the east) but if murphy, gally and guys like that are available a team could pop up.
Basically they will make their OA decisions late in the summer.
