I still just can't believe it.

The bottom line is that the series is as close as can be. It doesn't seem like a 3-1 lead is in the cards in this one.

I just don't think the Yotes can come back in this series if they lose another one of these. They were 1:35 from a commanding lead. You rarely get two chances to win a series.

They don't even have to take chances, they just have to play normal. There must be a communication problem between him and the players in what play conservative means. Even if they're fresh in the ice, they just softly tap the puck in and go for a change. "oh, you didn't score? Here's another chance, we'll just let you skate in and do what you want." who cares if they have fresh legs if everyone is just going to stand around the crease and reach out with their sticks. 3 years of these last minute goals or nailbiter endings that shouldn't even be close. It's embarrassing.

Does it annoy anyone else that this commercial is like 7 minutes long?

pull out all your lucky charms everyone. Put a mental shield around Smith's net. We gotta win this one. Visualize the celebration as we get the winning goal!

Tell me about it. All it does is let the other team reset and move through the neutral zone with speed. And too often they have a hell of a time clearing the puck, usually at the worst possible moment.

I'm not sure what the Yotes are supposed to be doing differently, though. (I agree they were too passive on the power play.) The Hawks are good. They keep possession really well in the offensive zone. Eventually, they get a bounce.

This. Good god, this.

Though I don't think this is a simple communication issue. If it were, this would have been corrected after the first several times this team gave up a late goal. This is Tippett's game plan, and he won't change it. Just take a short shift, dump the puck, and hope for the best. The Dallas games alone should have convinced him to change this strategy, and after two playoff games of this happening he apparently still thinks it's a good strategy to go with.

We are so passive and back on our heels when we get the lead. When you have a team like the Hawks down in the last few minutes.......STEP on them. I repeat....STEP on them.

Tippett - "I'm going to save my anger for after the game, but if you guys do not win this in OT, all of your heads are going to be on my mantlepiece, do you understand?"

5 games to start a series 1951 Tor/Mtl. Could have been an equal or longer streak in a 6 or 7 game series where the first game wasn't OT, but 5 is probably the record.
