Sens - second worse Farm Club??

According to Craig Hagerman on " The Score" website.

29. Ottawa Senators

"It's been a tough year for the Ottawa Senators' farm system. The Binghamton Senators finished with the fourth-worst record in the AHL and their highly-touted draftee, Thomas Chabot, failed to impress at development camp. They still have Colin White, Logan Brown, and Matt O'Connor, but the herd is thin"

That doesn't make sense. Bingo and our stable of prospects are two separate entities.

It happens ,when you harvest most of your best youth.Add in poor coaching ,and whatever talent we had down there just didnt grow .Having a more experienced coach, along with an injection of fresh troops. And we should be far better this season

Just went through the article what a joke!

Our prospects are much better than quite a few other teams...

Is this for Binghamton/ECHL or our farm system as a whole?

Though I think there rankings in the article are wide open for debate, this isn't just a prospect ranking. It's a farm system ranking.

"Every day this week, theScore's hockey editors will evaluate NHL teams on a different level of management. This time, we're focusing on farm systems, ranking them based on prospect talent, affiliate stability and proximity to the parent clubs."

We shouldn't be surprised by it, Bingo has been pretty bad the last two seasons. I don't expect that they will be much better this yr either & who knows how good prospects will be until they prove it. I expect White, Chabot, Brown & Perron to all be quality prospects but a couple of them might not either. There is a long list of prospects most thought would be very good NHL players who never made it & another list of guys who few thought would be any good who did make it. You just never know for sure unless it is with the very best prospects & sometimes we were wrong about them too.

LOL.
Wonder if the guy spent 5 minutes on his research. But he found that bit on Chabot, so he is definitely a bust now.

I would not put to much stock about what they are saying.

If they only look at Brown-White-Chabot, it tells a lot that they don't know anything about the Sens.

What about our EU prospect who are doing well overseas? Englund-Jaros-Hogberg-Dahleen, etc. Those 4 have a good chance at some point to crack our Lineup and could be Key contributor for this team.

I'm not saying that the EU prospect are blue chip, but they are significant prospect who are underrated and unknown by others.

Oh and i forgot : Paul, Gagne, Chlapik, and i didn't even spoke about the QMJHL MVP Francis Perron.

After our big 3, that's a very good prospect pool. Not Elite, but very underrated.

Who's Craig Hagerman and how much non-NHL hockey does he watch?

What does the Bingo lineup look like now with all the additions and prospects who will play for them?

Seriously? This is one of the three area's of evaluation for a farm club? Kudos, theScore, really nailed what makes farm systems successful with that one.

Ottawa's farm system sucks because their AHL affiliate is kinda far away (about 400km) and they really sucked the last couple years (we'll ignore that of the teams top ~10 prospects, only one, Paul, played for Binghamton last year as the rest were either too young, in college/Europe, or just drafted this draft). Also, they might be moving closer to Ottawa so they lose points for not being stable.

But hey. MTL prospect pool is notable with guys like Andrighetto, Hudon, De La Rose, McCarron, Sergachev( Ok, he's legit. ), Lindgren, Carr...

Hum what?

The Score is just another windbag network that just is sucking up to TMLSE .And telling them what they want to hear nothing more

I so ****ing hope they fail.. I'm sick of hearing how they have 3 of the top 5 prospects.. Ya right.. according to HF? I think they should never bring them to the NHl, they would be able to have 10/10 best prospects and brag about it.

While I don't believe we are the 2nd worst farm team... I don't care if we are or not. The thing that's important is how those prospects translate into the NHL.

The shiny new prospect thing and the boat loads of potential is a nice dream but it needs to translate to real life and often doesn't.

But hey! Dream world's filled unending potential are fun! And Toronto is full of dreams!
