Well i have concerns about the health of Grossman and Bryzgalov. Bryzgalov has been getting worse and worse in this series. His lateral movement is very poor. Seems to me he cant deal with the pain of pushing off when moving side to side.
I am hoping Grossman got zinged like Henrik Sedin did the other night. got hit, was out for a bit and came back. They held him out because the game was lost.

I agree..no odd man rushes or at least limit them as much as possible. This is where the forwards have to play more of a man to man D and not be stretched out as far. Last night they simply didn't skate and I do believe they are spent moreso than Pitt based on all the comments the Flyers were making about being exhausted. They simply didn't put in the effort they did in the first 3 games when they were without the puck and they were without the puck b/c they weren't skating. Coming back from behind the way they have caught up to them last night even with the day off. It is pretty obvious the day off despite being spent hurt them more b/c they didn't seem to have the motivation they had in the first 3 games. Pitt was refreshed mentally and it translated into physical dominance.

To me the only way Pitt comes all the way back and we can't sqeak one more win out if if MAF starts stealing games which he is perfectly capable. Bryz would have to be up to par if that nightmare scenario comes true. It is hard to say from last night's game whether MAF has his groove back b/c like Meltzer said he wasn't really tested hard in the 2nd and 3rd periods. He made some nice saves but it wasn't like he was King Henry or Anderson out there....

I figured we would lose game 4, regroup, and win game 5. But I didn't think we'd lose Grossmann, let up 10 goals, and only score 3. So yes I'm worried, but I'm not panicking yet. I'm concerned about Bryz, worried that MAF regained a LOT of confidence, worried Malkin is more confident now that he's in the goal column.

This is a big test for Laviolette and the veterans.

It does, but it is something that happens so infrequently that I'm not worried after one game. I could certainly see the Pens making it a series, however, because on paper they were too talented to be down 3-0 in the first place.

You'll see me worrying if they reach Game 7.

I'm amazed that 40% are actually worried about this. A 3-0 comeback has happened what, 3 times ever in the NHL?

Edit: Correction. I say I'm amazed that 40% are worried, but I take that back. Knowing these boards, not surprised by that at all.

Looks like Pens/non-Flyers fans are skewing the results

Wasn't aware the Consol Energy Center had the ability to vote.

Then again, since it's apparently alive, maybe we can finally ask it how it feels to be continually ****ed by the Flyers.

Been nervous since game 1, nothing has changed. Grossmann maybe concussed, defense being putrid, and Bryz out in the woods has me really worried.

All it takes is one solid Defensive and Bryz game though and its over, so we are still sitting pretty.

Fleury was awful again in the 1st then barely saw the puck the rest of the way. He's still highly vulnerable.

I mean, on one hand, I think Hey coming back from 0-3 to win a series is so rare.

And on the other hand, I think wow - this series itself has been defying history, in turn a "rare" comeback wouldn't be out of the question considering how ridiculous, and anti-stat this series has been

Not nervous in the least bit.

When trailing a best-of-7 NHL playoff series 3-games-1, the Pittsburgh Penguins have a 2-6 series record with an active five-series losing streak, and a 4-4 Game 5 record. When leading a best-of-7 NHL playoff series 3-games-1, the Philadelphia Flyers have a 19-2 series record with an active five-series winning streak, and a 14-7 Game 5 record with an active three-Game 5 winning streak.

This series is over.

Ranger fan hoping that you guys close it out in Game 5.

As an outside observer, what I worry about is the Penguins clawing back into it, which allows the league to put THEIR fingerprint on it.

Good luck.

We should also remind ourselves that the Flyers are now 8-2 in games that matter against the Pens this year.

All of those numbers mean something until they don't. Only one team in NHL history ever came back from being down 0-3 in a best of 7 series.... until the next team did it.

Numbers like that simply show you that it'll be difficult for the Pens to win the series, they don't say that they can't.

Well, hey, I could be struck by lightning when I walk outside too. And it's more than difficult for the Pens to comeback, it's near impossible.

As much as I usually hate stats in these situations, the Flyers haven't lost consecutive games to the Pens this season, and haven't lost 4 in a row at any point this season.

I think the Flyers will take game 5. In front of a stunned/sad crowd at Consol. Wouldn't want it any other way.
