NFL Draft 2012

Didn't see a thread, forgive me if there is one.

I'm a Vikings fan, totally anticipated and happy with our pick, I don't know wtf Cleveland traded with us for, we weren't going to take Richardson...lol, thanks for the free draft picks.

The Giants have the last pick, and I'm ok with that

Pretty eventful first round. Lot more trading going on than normal. I mean the Patriots actually traded UP.

I didn't see it, but I heard it and was surprised as well.

One thing that ESPN does that I like is put together nice highlight packages for each player. It gives you a sense of how good the guys are, even the OLinemen

Holy lots of picks for New England batman

The bucks were looking at trading up for Richardson too... so they were bidding against each other.

Pretty happy with what the Patriots did in the 1st round. Jones and Hightower are great picks and I'm still in shock the Belichick actually trade up to make both picks.

Window closes as soon as him or Brady leaves the team so might as well go all in.

As I said in the NFL forum on the 2nd page, maybe the Browns took Weeden to mentor McCoy?

Anyone ever think of that?

Pats doing Pats things. Browns doing Browns things.

I hate that my Chargers got another tweener DE/LB.

I'm glad the first round had a lot of trades and went fairly quickly because the Redskins' first pick was an automatic and they don't have a 2nd.

I'm also glad I have the NFL network, because listening to Chris Berman for 3+ hours would probably drive me to do horrible things.

I LOVE the rookie salary scale. Now teams can approach the draft with the goal being to take the best players for their team instead of the best dollar value. That's the biggest reason we saw so many trades, IMO.

I had no problem with the Browns making the trade to ensure they get their guy, or the player they took with the #3 pick (though I would've been just as happy to see them take Blackmon and not trade any picks), but I really disliked the selection of Weeden. I don't really think Weeden is any better at QB than McCoy, nor do I think he's worthy of a 1st round pick. They have a lot of needs and probably would've been better served taking a receiver, though I suppose Hill, Randel, and Jeffrey are still on the board.

DeCastro landing in the Steelers' lap couldn't have been any more perfect for them.

That's going to be a special group of LBs in Carolina. Wow.

I'm kinda pissed that the Cowboys walked away with the best corner in the draft to go along with signing arguably the best corner in free agency.

The Eagles took a defensive linemane with their 1st? Shocking.

I'm not upset with the trade for the #2 pick, but looking at the talent that's still on the board, I wish we could've kept our 2nd rounder.

As a Vikings Fan really pleased with the picks and the trade. Getting those extra picks is really going to help rebuild the team in the long term. Getting Kali is exactly the correct pick. He is the best O lineman in the draft and he will be a future pro bowler for years. Then trading again late in the 1st to grab Smith was fantastic. They need a big safety who can punish teams over the middle which is something they have lacked forever in Minny.

I was so worried they would go after a Running back or QB. I am glad they didn't Winning starts on the O line and defense.

As a Seahawks fan, I'm appalled by the Bruce Irvin Pick.

He was projected to be a late 2nd rounder and we chose him with Quinton Coples and Marvin Ingram still on board.

I'm starting to question Pete Carroll's ability to evaluate talent.

Couple thoughts on the first round:

1) Poor Colt McCoy. There's no way Browns draft a 28 year old QB 1st round to not play right away.

2) I'm shockedd and a little worried that my Titans drafted a WR first. I'm a little worried that this means they don't fully trust Britt's health.

3) A lot of offense taken in the first round in general, surprising.

4) Tannehill will be crucified in Miami because the offense around him is terrible.

Definitely. On the plus side, at least he's got a stud LT protecting his blindside, which is more than a lot of young QBs can say.

It's alright wasn't really anyone there after Hightower and the Oline were all gone. If we pick that RB Miller in 2nd and a decent G we will be fine.

AS a browns fan, I was perplexed to why they traded up, but probably out of paranoia that another team might. I like the Richardson pick, and was hoping we'd get him.

Weeden....yeah poor Colt McCoy. I don't know about his age..... but wait and see I guess.

As a fins fan, i expected it to be Tannehill given Ireland needs to save his job. Also, it gives us some hope he could potentially be our franchise QB...finally but that's a good year or 2 away.

Also, i might get to see Lauren Tannehill a lot more now too which is an added bonus

as bucs fan i was pumped to see them trade down although i thought they were going to take Kuchely. Barron is a beast safety and while it wasnt the most pressing need he was the BPA. then trading back into the first to pick up doug martin was awesome. made my whole night.

i think the vikings and bucs were all in cahoots, the bucs wanted to trade down and it was widely known that was the case then a few days out there were alot of rumors that the bucs wanted to trade up. im willing to bet they told the viks they could say they were looking to trade up to drive up the browns offer in exchange for the knowledge of who each team was picking. i think this because as soon as the browns were on the clock the bucs traded down with the jags knowing it was going to go TR then Kalil, then they probs told the jags they would trade with them as long as they dont take Barron, bucs get an extra pick, viks get 3 and everyone gets their guy.

Reading internet opinions makes me really excited about the Chargers pick (Ingram). Looks like he might have been the steal of the draft.
