"The off-ice officials were not able to attract the attention of the referees or linesmen despite sounding the horn, which was not audible due to crowd noise, and the puck was dropped.

Doc Emrick said more than once in the final minute that Verizon Center was "deafening". That's the power of playoff hockey!

Caps fans have come a long way! The old Capital Centre would get rocking sometimes but this is a new level.

Thx for sharing.

I haven't been to either of these games (work) but the game where we clinched a playoff berth this year was the loudest I've ever heard Verizon center. It had to be a standing ovation/rocking for 6 to 7 minutes and was just...insane.

Rain on the parade!

Am I the only one hearing artificial crowd noise pumped out at games?

I think its been happening for decades now. But I do struggle to differentiate artificial from actual.

Get a nice shout-out about the crowd, then it has to be deconstructed to be as miserable as possible and turned into a debate.

Awesome.

Glad it was that loud, time-keeping difficulties aside.

I'm waiting for the league to make a public apology to the Bruins for this...

And I was joking, sorry.

Surprised the league couldn't spin it in a way to issue a "Bench suspension" to Ovechkin for hurting the Bruins ears.

Headshot. Repeat offender.

technically Holtby and Thomas's GAA should be reduced by a factor of 1.0014, no?
