If the refs actually call this game fair, or slant it in the Caps' favor (which by all rights, they should), I think there's a decent chance the Caps win.

If the Caps win this game, they'll win the series.

Ha the series talk on the cup board is pretty funny... Bruins fans poking at caps fans even though nobody is responding.

Bingo bango.

Hunter has a ton of experience losing these kinds of games, so I'm sure he has impressed upon them just how big this is.

Somewhat hopelessly optimistic but I kind of agree. Win this game and the emotional lift for getting 'arguably' your best player back could carry them.

My opinions aren't born from hopeless optimism. They're born from two factors:

1- The Caps are quite used to playing without Backstrom
2- They'll now have the 'us against the world' mentalitiy

The NHL very well might have (forgive the pun) poked the bear with the Backstrom suspension.

Yea, "make the playoffs 48 hours before the end of the regular season" used to playing without Backstrom. Now I see where the confidence comes from!

REMINDER:

No GTFO posts or pestering 'Ruins fanbase if they come here and don't break the rules. If you feel someone is crossing the line, report it. Let your enforcers handle it and you guys just PLAY YOUR GAME.

Should you recieve that treatment on their boards, feel free to notify us or the Boston Mods.

i agree. i also think the caps body of playoff work has had them winning these games more often than losing them. they can be very mentally tough. they have come from three games to one down and won a series. they have won elimination games on the road. they have trailed 3-0 on the road and won the game.

it will be an interesting watch. i bet the game returns to nobody scores. the longer the game remains 0-0 the better it is for the caps

Are our mods closer to Rechlicz or Matt Bradley?

Have any of the crack local reporters that follow the Capitals actually asked DH about the status of Halpern and why he's not getting a sweater. All I've seen from them is that Halpern's a scratch, but how about some follow up to help us understand the reasoning or logic for such a decision.

Expert Chuck Gormley will get to the bottom of this.

What if the Bruins posters are diving, trying to draw a infraction?

I'm glad people have finally started to follow my way of passive aggressive nonviolence that drives people insane more than anything else.

This GDT is awesome. I can't believe the main board hasn't picked it up yet.
