Almost identical running games, only the pats scored way more rushing touchdowns.
lets look at the defenses:
NE in 07: 4th in ypg @288, 4th in points allowed per game@17.1
IND in 04: 29th in ypg@390, 19th in points allowed per game@21.9
Brady was racking up stats just to do it when games were over, manning was racking up stats to keep his horribad defense off the field so the colts could win games.
Having a bunch of medicore running backs that feed off of the passing game's success doesn't warrant the same defensive attention as an All-Pro 1,600 yard rusher.
Tom made it to the Super Bowl this past year with the 31st ranked defense, as well, and without a competent running game.

made it /= winning it. Peyton made a sb with a **** defense and no run game too. Fact is, brady hasn't won anything without a top 5 d. manning has. And this last season proved how good manning was. a sure playoff team and sb contender became the worst team in the nfl without manning. brady missed a season and the pats went 11-5.

According to ESPN, that was the "worst defense ever" all year.
Yea, sure. When your team is built around a guy and has no legitimate backup plan if he goes down, that makes him more awesome. Ok.
Matt Cassel is a legitimate starting quarterback. Curtis Painter is a questionable 3rd string QB. There's a big difference there. It's not like they had a reliable run game to churn out yards to negate the void at QB.

matt cassel? Look what he's done since he left the patriots. He wishes he was as good as orton.
What? Made a Pro Bowl, got hurt and had a bad year on an awful Chiefs team?
There's lightyears of difference between the skill of Curtis Painter and the skill of Cassel.
he's had two awful years with a decent year sandwiched between. he's nothing special. Even the year he was decent in KC, he barely threw for 3000 yards(which is **** in the nfl these days). Kyle Orton put up similar seasons in 2009 and 2010.

He was 8th in Passing TDs, 4th in % of Passes INT'd, and 8th in QB Rating. His yards were 19th and his attempts were 17th so those kind of correlate.
As for Orton, he had 7 more TDs and 2 less INTs with 48 less attempts and on a team he led to 10 wins.
He played 9 games last year and completed almost 60% of his passes without Charles, Moekai and like half of the Chiefs team.
Did you watch any of the queefs games last year? I caught 3-4, dude was bad.
I caught a few. He did have 3-4 bad games. He also had 4-5 good games, including a 4 TD game. I'm not saying he's an elite QB, but he's a starter, that's for certain.

I can buy into him being a starter, but his contract is absolutely ridiculous. 6 year 63M, with 28M guaranteed.
Haha, I'm not sure that's possible, so I'm gonna call it a tie.
Fair enough.
Todd McShay, ESPN and him being a USC QB basically sealed his fate in my eyes in terms of likability. And the fact that I never thought he'd be any good.

NY media + ESPN gushing over him, pretending he was great, did it for me. Also couldn't stand him at USC.
Well, Tony Romo puts up numbers at least. I'm not his biggest fan, but he's a good QB.
I wouldn't go as far as to say he is a good QB, but will admit he has put up good fantasy numbers. I'll take him on my fantasy team all day, but is one of the last guys I'd build a club around.

I'd agree on that. That said, the list of QBs I'd build a club around isn't long. It doesn't include Newton, Vick, and Romo. I'm only taking Eli if I can have the greatest pass rush ever.

Agree entirely, and would add Stafford... as well as Schaub.
