Last night John Boruk of CSN tweeted that he thought Bryz is still bothered by the bone chip fracture in his foot after he rewatched the goals against last night. So I went back on the DVR and watched some of the games before the injury and he is now noticeably slower when moving laterally. I know that this could an obvious statment after giving up 5 goals a game in this series, but it is a big difference. he simply cant get from post to post quick enough when the pens were passing it across the zone, especially on the power play.
I dont think he or the flyers will use it as an excuse and I sure bryz wants to be playing but would it be better for Bobrovsky to play and hopefully get this 4th win sooner rather then later?
It would give bryz over a week of rest on the foot which will hopefully allow him to be closer to 100% come round #2. I think it is important to get Bryz back to the level before his injury because I do not think Bob is good enough to carry the team for a deep playoff run, let alone an entire series. So as Bryz goes, so do the flyers.
This wouldnt be that unusual, heck bryz filled in for a few games for JS Giguere in 2007 when the ducks one the cup. If the flyers win this series and bryz continues to play hurt it will only end bad for the team becuase i do not think that they will be scoring 5+ goals a game.
Well he didn't have problems on the great glove save and then great arm save. I think his confidence is just getting shot again, which is worse than a minor injury.
he's moving slowly because he doesn't care
wasn't he quoted as saying ' he doesn't get paid in the playoffs "
sad thing is, you can see Bob plays like he wants to win but, can't stop anything shot h igh
he's improved so much with puck handling ability/skating but he has not addressed the
'everyone shoots high and they beat me, but why ? "
Ehhh, just the fact that bob was put in and did no better shows me that it was just as much the 5 people in front of our goalies fault as theirs... they were kinda left out to dry with no support.

yes
defense has work to do and they need to start blocking shots like the NYRangers do

Way to take it out of context...
It was an answer to how he'd be able to handle the pressure from that big contract he signed. It had nothing to do with his effort level during the playoffs.
bryz came here to win a cup, if anything he cares too much which has lead to him putting too much pressure on himself and playing poorly.
Last night his lateral movement was VERY slow and he seemed as though he was not reading the puck well at all... But there is a reason that my freinds and I in NY nick named him "laundry", and its because the flyers spend the entire game leaving him hanging out to dry when it comes to defense.
The flyers team, and overall defense is atrocious. The more I see anyone on the ice not named Coburn, Grossman, and Timmonen, the more scared I get. (all 3 of those guys had terrible games last night as well.)
Kubina is almost more of a liability than he is a addition to the defence, lilja... and Carle is playing like he isn't sure what to do when he is on the ice. Pitt is good enough that if you second guess your defensive scheme for just a moment it is too late. (I sometimes question if we have a defensive scheme at all, as most of the time the team looks lost)
Bryz in the first 3 games let up about 1 bad goal on average with game 2 letting up 2 bad goals, but he also stole 3-4 per game. He wasn't able to do that last night which is not entirely his fault. The D on this team just stinks.
I got the feeling Bryz didn't care at all about last night...the shots of him on the bench he looked very smug. Not saying he doesn't care, but combine that attitude appearance with his performance and I'm slightly worried.
Saying that, I'm confident he'll find his stride and get back to March form.

What I saw on the bench was frustrated, not smug. That has nothing to do with hurt or not, but he just looked like a guy who was getting beat like crazy.
We'll see. It's 1 game. Him leaving practice early today has me thinking injury more and more. Even if he's playing poorly and you want to go with Bob for a game, you don't bring in Leighton and pull Bryz off the ice at practice.

I honestly can't see how he isn't still hurt. Bone chips in the foot are no joke, I think I read it usually takes a month or two to heal fully? What'd Bryzgalov give it, 6 days? He has to be feeling it.

That's a thought I've had too. He did seem to come back awfully quickly. But considering how poor ol' Bob has been playing, it's hardly surprising he was rushed.
Yea, a friend of mine close to the team said something about this earlier today and I hoped it wasn't true because I didn't see it posted here....now I do.
Eff. This team is screwed and cursed.
