We're playing against a physcial defensive team. I mean, you could scratch Bruno and keep him in there, fine, but beyond that, I think Shaw and Hayes are much better suited for this matchup. Bruno won't be scratched. So it comes down to Kruger or Morrison and I like the way Morrison started to come around the last couple games. It's not an easy decision but Morrison scored two games ago in a tight series, have to reward that, and IMO Morrison had the better Game 5. I can see putting Kruger in over him for the PK, which he did well last game but I'm not against more PK time for Morrison if Kruger goes out.

Kruger is a team worst -4 on the series and seems to be on the ice for an awful lot of the Coyote goals. I'll take Saad. He seems to be more responsible defensively.

Krüger is better than Saad - TODAY, this series and this game. (not going forward)

Krüger is not bad and doesn't play bad

Jayes and Kruger were both on the ice for the albatross of a goal that Phoenix scored Saturday. You know, the 3 on 1 where Sami was left on an island by the other 4 Hawks?

I like Kruger, but Saad has been the better player in this series.

Considering that Stalberg has been more useful than Kruger this series, what does that make Kruger?

Kruger is a black hole offensively, and really hasn't done much defensively to make it worth putting him in the lineup. I would much prefer Mayers as our 4th line C over Kruger.

Trade him in the offseason for something useful.

So he's on the ice when they score, but is each goal totally his fault? From what I've seen no, other than the icing which resulted in a goal as we all know. This kids creating a good amount of chances and playing very well, not perfect, but well. He'd have a point or 2 if sharp and stalberg etc would bury his dishes. I'd be surprised if he's not in the line-up tonight.

Really? His turnovers have been quite noticeable.

Saad over Kruger all the way. He reminds me of Kopecky in that he's clearly not a game changer, but he's talented enough to keep up in the top six.

And being compared to Kopecky is one of the best compliments I can offer up.

I was joking....he's been invisible this series. I've never been a fan of his, he got a ton of hype based on what he did in the SEL. I never got it.

Kruger has been the worst Hawks player in this series aside from Oduya.

What? What chances? Even his so-called solid defensive game has been lacking. Saad should be in before Kruger and Brunette.

let me guess that Krüger was bad again, his D wasn't even average at best and his offense was non existing - not even flashes. Right?

IDK but the guy in front of me had tickets left and the window by Kruger, he left after the first goal. He was smarter than me.

I can't even put into words the fail in this thread.

It's going to be fun when Kruger's on this team next year and Stalberg isn't.

Get used to it ladies. Perhaps if Kruger got a couple more assists off his ass or goals off his face he would have gotten more credit.

Krüger could have had 2+ assists yesterday if Sharp or Jayes could have burried this good set ups...

Kruger is just redundant on this team. He doesn't offer anything that Bolland already does, and even if he gets to that point it'll be a few years away.

I just don't see the point in keeping him around. The only thing he has to offer this team is good defensive play... which is great and all, but you can find a good defensive player who offers more as well for a little bit more money on the third line.

Krüger had a good offensiv game yesterday, he won draws and board battles...

Krüger will have a place on the roster and we won't get a real #2 Center for him

Fair enough. But he has a game like last night once every 5 or more games...

If he turns out to be the best possible scenario, he will turn into a better at the dot Dave Bolland. Why do we need to keep him around then? What does he offer this team that someone else already doesn't do and then some?

I'd say I'd put Frolik and Kruger as the same type of player right now as far as offense, defense and playing style goes. One is way overpaid but has shown he can do more than he has in Chicago and the other hasn't shown he can do much other than once in a while, but is a lot cheaper.

Who do you pick? Because to me, that's the logical option. One (or both) need to go and be replaced with someone who can offer a new dimension to this team. We can't just keep a player because we thought he was good at times (Emery is another example of that).

Kruger won't fetch a #2 center, but he has value. Considering that Bolland makes him expendable and doesn't contribute much to this team right now, why wouldn't we see what we could get from him?

Send him to the AHL whee he should've been all year. His present game doesn't offer enough and if we consider ourselves a Cup contender there is no space on the roster for a player that needs as much development as he does. Hit the weight room and play well in Rockford and maybe get a call up.

Yea he made two nice passes that sharp and hayes both whiffed on. One of the biggest stories of this series had to have been our lack of any finish.

The guy is useless offensively, slightly above average defensively, and getting better at the dot.

I'm all for giving him time to develop. Kruger has the tools to be a very nice player... you don't put up the numbers he did as a youngster in the SEL and have it be a fluke.

But not picking up a #2 center immediately simply because Kruger MIGHT develop into one eventually is just not the way to go. The hole in the roster at that spot is glaring, and it has been for a long time.

Are people so sure they still didn't want Vermette, who was the best forward in the series by a mile? I was ripped apart for saying that he should have been acquired at the deadline since the price for doing so was so low. And of course he then goes and torches the Hawks for 4 goals in the series while being the best forward for either team.
Personally, I'd love to have him playing #2C with $3.75M. Hell of a lot better usage of cap space than Oduya.
But it's too late now. If this issue isn't fixed when next season starts, I swear...
