Pitt - Wash

To Pitt - Ovechkin
To Wash - Malkin

I know it would never happen but would the value be there and would it be a good fit for each team.

Not even close.

Malkin>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Ovechkin

It would have to be Ovechkin + Carlson + Alzner for Malkin + Martin

Both teams say no, only reason I could see the Caps even entertain the idea is if they for whatever reason would rather have the contract of Malkin than the long contract of Ovechkin. Aside from that, both teams will keep the cards they were dealt.

As for whether the "value" is there or not, it really doesn't matter at all. You can't gauge the value of a player at this level, let alone two of them. If for whatever inexplicable reason this trade happened, there'd likely be some circumstances that have forced it thus altering the value somewhere, and any extra pieces would be pretty insignificant given who the two main part of the trade are.

Agreed. And in addition, Washington already has a star center in Backstrom who's signed for what 10 yrs or something? I see them sticking with Ove and Backstrom for at least another 5+ years.

That deal would never happen. You got a better chance getting Lemieux to do a comeback and win the Art Ross.

And then we have another problem. Malkin is worth more. Ovie hasn't been himself for like 2 years now. Less points, goals and so on.

No way Jose. Malkin is a beast. The only way this might happen would be if Malkin wanted out of Pittsburgh, which I just don't see happening.

As I said before, the Caps are kicking themselves for not drafting him. They wanted to, but felt presured into taking AO.

This is priceless.......Malkin could never, EVER revive hockey in a city the way Ovi has........and it's not even debatable

Lol your saying that possibly the best player in the world behind Sidney Crosby couldn't revive Hockey in a city like ovechkin? Lol. This is funny.
