Arthritis type feeling in the Hands?

I played hockey from age 4-10, after picking baseball over hockey (stupid I know), at age 18 I've decided to come back to the game I love.

This summer I'm going to play Ice and Roller hockey, recently I've been screwing around at local outdoor rinks with my friends.

Since I've started playing again, my hands have been killing me after playing or recieving hard passes etc. I use Warrior gloves and a bauer x20. Any tips or advice to get rid of this awful feeling?

Beleive it or not, it's your wrist muscles. You are using muscles you haven't used in along time, and they need to adapt to physicality you are putting them through in hockey.

I remember when I first started playing after a 10 year break I ended up buying a wrist supporter to support my hand and wrist thinking it was the same thing. But after about a month all the pain is gone and my muscles are use to the wrist shot, slap shot, stick handlings etc motions.

Just get use to it, I know alot of us have been through the same thing.

My right hand (top hand on the stick) was bothering me for a while after picking up the game again also. What i noticed helped me was to start lifting again, i had taken a break to work mainly on cardio and cycling, so my hands were not as strong as they could be. Lift dem weights and you will notice a difference!

Exactly what Ducksgo said. It's muscle memory, and you've lost it. Thankfully you're young enough that if you practice, it'll come back no problem. I on the other hand, being over 30, have to deal with ACTUAL arthritis pain after playing/practicing.
