Carle's playing scared

Really screwing himself for next year. His value goes down in Free Agency every ****** game he plays. Kinda sad since he's such a nice guy.

Shades of the Boston series last year when his minus was equivalent to the temp in Antarctica. He def looks skittish and is making some costly turnovers. He almost had a game changing one in the 3rd game....

I have no problem with Carle in the reg season for the most part. He was better this year with his consistency and logged big mins. It just seems he's too soft come playoff time against hard checking teams. I would keep him for 3.7M as well as much as it pains some fans who completely hate him. There is no way he should be kept beyond that salary..maybe ...4M to 4.3M tops on a 2-3 yr deal although I wouldn't like it too much and it would depend on availability of a viable replacement who could log mins like him.

Except for his asking price, it's kind of hard to just tell a guy who's been in the top 30 of points for defensemen for the last few years to just walk. He was stellar when he was with Pronger because whenever he ****ed up defensively, Pronger was there to bail him out.

Carle's got great offensively but is lackluster defensively. Instead of just saying "get rid of him" I'd venture to say "find someone who is disgustingly good defensively that you can pair with him to bail him out when he does (and he will) **** up defensively."

Although he has been playing with Kimmo lately, if I remember correctly.

When he "clears" the puck right up the middle to the other team's defenseman, what is the our other defenseman going to do?

Or the our other defenseman could step up and attempt to block the shot.

Carle would need Flash as his D partner ...I mean he practically passes his turnovers at times to the opposition. His partner would have to ride him piggyback and then jump off him to cover some of his gaffes

He's gonna be worth too much on the market to resign. He's going to make a lot more than he should, barring a cap decrease. I'd like to have him back if we signed another Grossmann like D man to play him with, but it's gonna cost too much. I think the team could spend that money elsewhere.

Is he injured? he gets nothing on his shots or clears. especially on his backhands. Maybe this is why he is tentative

I remember that time when he turned it over and the other team scored.

Pretty much...and someone will overpay vastly for him with his deal.

He still hasn't reached the production of his rookie year despite playing in an uptempo (for hockey) system for the past three years.
