I'm saying. I hate Pierre, so much. I don't want to get too into it. Mostly I hate his voice. But I also hate some of the things he says. He makes me wish I had the Canadian feed.

No team in the east had a better home record this year than the Capitals other than the Penguins and the Rangers. And home is where they are going tomorrow. Let's go Caps!

If I was a social marketing tycoon who owned an NHL team I'd hand out 20,000 Heldby Holtby T-shirts tomorrow.

I'm pretty sure you're assuming here because we all know common sense and Dale doesn't really go hand in hand. I mean any coach that took that long to see Schultz and Wideman = goals against and losses is not exactly a stellar decision maker is he?

say what you want about dale's offensive strategy but defensively, this team is playing better than it ever has in the playoffs. far more effort and far more shot blocking than i've seen in the past 5 years. yes, holtby has been great but name me a team who has made a playoff run without a goalie playing well. gotta close it tomorrow.

Chara's not gonna wear down. The dude puts less effort into 30 minutes of ice time than any other defenseman in the league. He went 24 games in the postseason last year, many in OT, and was just fine.

Yeah you never see the home team favored by a lot in the 3 stars decisions...

Agreed. But you double shift Ovie for the first 40 tomorrow to get him out there against Zanon and Ference as much as possible.

Its was as blatant.... but last two min while tied vs losing by one midway through 3rd. Big difference. Not saying that's fair. That's just playoffs.... typically.

What did Ovi do to even get in the dog house? Thursday's "turn over"? Or the fact the first goal was scored while hes was on the ice?

I can't really fault Ovechkin with it, unless you go back to the blame Ovechkin for a defense man getting a good shot, blame Ovechkin for a forward getting a good shot crap, that some around here and the media do, they want him everywhere, covering the dman, covering the forwards. Ovi hung back because there was a late man, goal went in, really wasn't his fault, they were let in super easily by the Caps and they backed off and gave them so much room.

Really IDK what Ovechkin has done in this series so egregiously on the defensive side.

You and i both agree on this one, how you don't give your captain major ice time to me completely befuddles me.

The thing is when we go into our defensive shell you at least want someone to help lead a breakaway should you get the puck and without Ovi that's hard isn't it?
When the other team is pressing, I am a lot more concerned about their guy scoring because of a missed assignment by Ovi than I am encouraged by the possibility of him getting a breakaway and scoring. That's just my feeling. When the other team is not pressing, I am not as worried because other guys can usually cover for Ovi when he starts to float.

As far as hits.. big hits dont cover for missed assignments. That big hit on Seidenberg was a perfect illustration today. Perhaps it's the hitting that takes away so much energy that he has to float.

He got to the point of dehydration last year and was noticeably gassed today. Maybe wear down is overstatement but you can see him start skating like Schultz when he gets tired.

Any word yet on the time for the game tomorrow? Last I saw it was still TBD, but that was yesterday.
