How long will it likely take to get to the Sharks pick (or how long does each team get to pick)? Trying to figure if I'll be able to make it home in time to see any of the part I care about (ie. us).

Have confirmed @DarrenDreger report of #CBJ trade for G Sergei Bobrovsky. Three draft picks going to Flyers, including No. 45 this year.

Seems like Howson overpaid. Doubt Flyers hold on to that #45 pick and package it in another trade

The Blue Jackets have acquired goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky from the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for three draft picks, including one of the Jackets' second-round picks -- the No. 45 overall -- this weekend. One of the other two picks will be in the 2013 NHL Draft.

Guessing #17 will be about 5:30

But if the Sharks don't get Nash, I'm thinking they'll be trading up.

Most likely also means that we are not going to package Niemi in the deal to CBJ. This scares me because now I am not sure what DW is going to pay.

The San Jose Sharks have dropped out of the Rick Nash sweepstakes. At this point, it appears as though Ottawa is the front runner. #NHLDraft

Darren Dreger ‏@DarrenDreger
Bobrovsky to CBJ for 45 and 117 this year and 4th rd. (PHX) next year.

So we aren't getting Nash. Ehh... No harm done really. He''s a good player and all, but that cap hit is so damned ugly.

Price would have been just way to high.

The cap hit bothered me originally and is still not ideal but what really concerned me is what the Sharks would have to give up for him. Totally not worth it.

Howsen is an idiot though to not take a Pavelski+ offer, and DW is an idiot for offering it. What a circus.

Still, yay! I'd rather he focus on the slim chance of Parise, Suter, Ryan, etc.

ok by me, to much cap hit and would cost to much in assets. I'd rather get two really good players for the same cap hit.

My hopes for this weekend's draft are;

1) Murray or either Braun/Demers are moved for pick/prospect or as part of a package for a really solid NHL winger that can play 2nd/3rd line (e.g. Simmonds, Cimera) with a decent cap hit and some mid to longer term rights for us,

2) Take the best player available at forward in the 1st round, maybe trade up or down to get him and get us 1 or 2 decent prospects for the future as best players available on later rounds,

3) Move one of our goalie prospects for a pick/prospect or see 1)

So excited for tonight! I love the draft. Probably my favorite NHL event, even better than the trade deadline and the Cup Finals (unless the Sharks are playing).

I really hope we make a push for Bobby Ryan, but that's very unlikely considering we're conference rivals with the Ducks. Even if we don't make any trades, I'm excited to see who we pick in the first round. Fingers are crossed that Grigorenko falls to us.

DW said in an interview he doesn't want to open new holes when trading for players and then offers Pavelski in a trade? We need three scoring lines and two new top-6 wingers. Get on that, patna!

Tim Thomas waived his no-trade. Still a chance he could play next season. Couple of teams called the Bruins in the last few days.
