Oh I hope that is not the case. Its going to be a hard void to fill. He is still a 50 point D-man.

Maybe DW knows we are getting Suter!

What could Boyle possibly be traded for that can help this team next year?

Don't know, but I would agree about Kurz. Have no idea why people were taking his "insider" info seriously, trust Pollak who actualy knows what he's talking about.

Cap space, pick, prospect, and a young third line center with potential to be more

Me either. I do think he will be gone after this year though.

Im on the fence whether or not he returns or gets traded. I take every rumor this time of year with a huge grain of salt. Any blogger can throw **** against a wall and see if it sticks.

Well if we do end up trading Boyle, Yandle would be a welcome replacement.

It would more likely be Pavelski for Yandle, then Boyle for whatever. Problem is we can't really trade Boyle till the 1st, so it's a timing problem.

Can we trade Boyle for Yandle and then have them worry about getting a return instead? Can we also sign Suter too? I heard Doughty is best friends with Couture too.

Suter-Burns
Vlasic-Yandle
Stuart-Doughty

mmmmmmmm

Seems like DW did something similar though with the Heatley trade, didn't go down til it could but was done in advance.

Uggh, I just realized the draft doesn't start until 1am my time. But it might be better for my blood pressure if I have to wait until tomorrow to find out how DW wrecked the team.

Hopefully, I'm wrong. But I won't bet on it.

I say we take Collberg/Gaunce/Lindholm with the 1st, then trade Murray to NYI for their 2nd and grab Di Giuseppe or Kerdiles.

1) Murray or either Braun/Demers are moved for pick/prospect or as part of a package for a really solid NHL winger that can play 2nd/3rd line (e.g. Simmonds, Cimera) with a decent cap hit and some mid to longer term rights for us,

2) Take the best player available at forward in the 1st round, maybe trade up or down to get him and get us 1 or 2 decent prospects for the future as best players available on later rounds,

3) Move one of our goalie prospects for a pick/prospect or see 1)
My hopes for this draft:

(Less controversial first)

1) Move Murray for a 2nd / good forward prospect

2) Move Clowe for a late 1st / part of a package for a young top-6

3) Move Niemi for a 2nd / part of a package

4) Move Handzus for a 6th/7th

(More controversial second)

5) Move Dan Boyle

6) Move Joe Thornton

Players to target: Basically, the ones mentioned already (Suter, Parise, Yandle, Ryan, etc)

Otherwise, high quality prospects / young players. Remember, Parise supposedly wants to be "the guy" whereever he goes. And if JT is here, he won't be "the guy".

yea, hard to disagree with any of the less controversial moves. Not sure if they would all happen at the draft or sometime before the season starts. Past there the JT/Boyle moves would add up to a major re-tooling, just not sure we're ready/need to or that any GM can pull it all off over one summer.

Well it is entirely possible he knows he has a decent shot at Suter. Tampering, in creative ways, happens, and don't think DW wouldn't take the opportunity to have a frank little chat with uncle Gary and pass some messages. My bet is he did something like this with Heatley, but we will never know.

If he knows he has a good shot at Suter, and can somehow move Boyle now, ABSOLUTELY do it. It's almost like signing a big name free agent and then turning him around in a big trade. Free assets. I love Boyle, but if the Sharks can get Suter or Yandle it would go a LONG way toward averting a rebuild.

Would love to host the draft here in SJ. Can't believe Carolina, Minnesota, and Columbus have had ones ahead of us.

Yah :\ I'd go.

My bet is DW doesn't want it. I think the org would probably lose money on hosting the draft and prefers not to.

They're going with the same division 3 years in a row? Are the Rangers and Isles hosting 2015 and 2016?
