Hard to give effort when you never have the puck. The team's glaring weakness is they've lost every faceoff in this series.

It's pretty disappointing knowing that the best case scenario is getting to a game 7.

It's also frustrating as a fan to watch a game like this and not be able to do anything about it. We can yell at the tv as much as we want but it doesn't change anything.

I was worried about this when we found out our opponent. I just knew the Panthers would give us so many problems.

Posters here have no clue how the Devils play. No heart, no effort? This is how NJ played all season. IF you watched this series, all they had was opportunistic offense, not based on their style nor their skills. If they found an opening or get a bounce, they'll put it in. If they don't get one or if they miss their chances, they look baaddd. That's why I hate Deboer for playing this type of hockey which doesn't match up with this team.

I would feel very confident in a game 7.

I think it's time to let Bernier play with the top 6. He seems to playing like a man possessed on every shift. Bump him up.

Agreed Deboer has NOT impressed me at all this series. Absolutely no ability to adapt. Still using the regular season everyone healthy game plan

Kovalchuk I'd say in definitely injured. Yet he's still on the point and playing 25mins? That's just retarded. The **** Pete?

Pretty much every forward beside the 4th line has been crap.
I saw the replays of many missed ops as it has been no finish.

It's honestly pretty funny that some think he isn't hurt. Yeah, he's skating as slow as andrew peters intentionally. Pull your heads out of your *****. His acceleration is junk, he can't cut and you can see it in his stride. It's a groin and it's almost impossible to play with.

I don't know where you go from here. If he's that bad you can't give him those minutes. That's on deboer unless kovy hasn't let them know, then it's still on deboer for not recognizing it and making the proper adjustments

Sit and think about it for a second. Kovy's speed is about at 50%. You really think he's putting on a show to look slow? So ridiculous.

Pretty much agree. It's also a roster that has now been exposed here in the playoffs atmosphere with the speed and intensity of the game. Our top players have been beaten to death during the regular season with excessive minutes due to a lack of quality depth. We all thought with the additions, but it goes to show how us fans sometimes like to just believe something without it really paying off when it counts.

The defense is also kind of blah. Lots to be desired still on the back end. A couple steady players, but not enough dynamic ability there to put on the PP or to handle top forwards.

If this team loses to Florida on Tuesday, and Lou pulls a "Status Quo", he should be told it is time for him to go.

I pity the poor fools who are wasting a crapload of cash on Tuesday. You get what you deserve. Maybe if the arena was half-empty the team would finally get the message.

Actually as a Devils fan these are the most devastating losses I have ever experienced.
damn this team must make up the entire 20% of series that were lost down 3-2

Well....Ladies and Gentlemen, We are screwed.

We all wanted the Panthers in the first round, we got them....and it appears they've "got" us.

Now it's just a matter of staying alive the next two games no matter what. And I'm not so sure the Devils can......(I hope they do to prove me wrong).

Who was that Devils poster who said Panthers in 6? The man is looking like a Genius right about now...... This will suck royally if the Devils do not find a way to take Game 6 and Game 7....

Faceoffs were NJ 27 - FLA 31 tonight. People keep on harping on our faceoffs but every night we've been pretty much at 50%. Never a huge discrepancy here. Confirmation bias.

Come on be real, he is one of the most natural skaters around. Did you see him at the end of the game barely able to skate. With that noted why is he playing so much.

Surer/Weber would get in peoples'faces so an improvement on that front.

We need a guy who looks like and is willing to confront people in the locker room and not just be pretty boy with the C, which was my reservation with Parise getting the C.

Kovy would, Patty would but they didn't want it. I'm sorry but Cs should not be handed out only cuz a guy is gonna be a big money UFA.

There are plenty of guys on this team with the grit required to wear a C. Parise isn't one of them, when was the last time he threw a big hit on the ice?
