Got too many benders on this team. Skill guys aren't playing like it, and our offensive, 'veteran' youth is frighteningly looking like garbage.

well given the way we do business, July is an important part to the development of this team. we can't get blinded by all this home grown talent we have.

are you implying we're not taking the post season seriously? this franchise has struggled to score more than 2g for the past 3 or 4 seasons. It's time to bring in more offense. we are wasting the best years of our Goalie. He deserves a real offense in front of him.

Yeah right, how many goals does Mary-Jane have in the last two playoff series vs the Caps and Sens?
When his contract is up, say goodbye and good luck and don't let the door hit you on the way out!

LOL. He definitely won't get that. In fact I bet he gets nothing. The no longer tough Rangers won't do anything about it either. This series is lost. I have no more faith in Torts either.

I was really disappointed in Callahan.

He played like a fool taking those two penalties.

Surprised he'd play like that. Not the captain.

It's my #1 sport by far and I live and die with this team. Can't believe I have to work Monday and Thursday so I'll have to watch this team come back and advance on delay.....

Parise has the same amount of points Gaborik, relax. We're getting worse offensively with Parise instead of Gaborik.

We had the shot to sign a top 6 scorer. The price Columbus asked was too high? Right? It wasn't going to cost much off the roster. Maybe MDZ and Dubi? What about the young superstar talent in the system? Yes, Columbus was asking too much? Right?

I have a feeling a few early playoff losers might be thinking harder about the deal as they have the long summer to reflect. My view, Columbus made the right move in waiting. We will see.

Do you watch the two?

Parise is a better player on every possible level, save shot, than Gaborik.

I think what pisses me off most is Neil right after the hit.

That was right on the jaw and you know what, years ago that was a clean hit just like the guys said on the panel. That's why there were so many players playing with scrambled eggs in their head. It happened all the time. But now is different.

He knew what he was doing and where he was wanting to hit and caught him on the follow through of the shot no different than Cooke on Savard.

That said I don't think this was as bad as the Cooke/Savard or Torres/Hossa. But it doesn't make it right and needs to be reviewed.

All of the late-high hits Neil has had over the years, it amazing to think he's not a repeat offender. I remember one year specifically, I think was in Ottawa, Prucha was stationary on the half boards and Neil had every bullet point of an illegal hit. Yet never even got a penalty.

He may be better defensively but he had 10 more goals and more points too. This is not the 45 goal Zach Parise anymore. We have plenty of guys that can bring it defensively. That shot is important. It's disappointing that Gaborik has been bad in the playoffs. But getting rid of our one true sniper is not the way to go. I want Parise but not at the expense of Gaborik.

The league does not favour clean play. They like a-holes like Chris Neil. Wow, I remember a whole bunch of HF NYR folks wanting to get Neil in the off-season. I never did, because I hate that guy. Ha. Which is it, you hate him or you want him on your team?
I will tell you flat out that I hope John Scott is dressed and he goes out with there with one single intent, which is to pound that f-acker Chris Neil to a pulp.

yea good one....

Spezza scored his first tonight, along with the empty netter...

Who else besides Gaborik can score? you can't pin your entire offensive hopes on one true scoring threat!

the timing of the hit was perfect. its not considered a late hit. neil doesnt leave his feet so what are you going to call? a good hard hockey hit? if a players head is down youre still allowed to hit him..

Who needs Neil when you have Mike Rupp, the winter classic hero?

Headshot tho with intent. Neil was eyeing him from across the ice. Nice homervision, lol.

I've always thought that. I also think he picked the Flyers to rub it in our faces (and Pitts) and he kinda is. Our PP would be mind blowingly more improved with him on it. sorry for the grammar (mind blowingly?) i dunno i'm drinkin
