I'd pass...Marleau has a NTC and we just got Havlat so doubt he's moved

Ok seriously, couldn't we trade Boyle to Edmonton for a 1st and 2nd or a prospect?
Whitney and Boyle would be a scary PP unit with their youngsters.

what would montreal need to add to pull off that kind of swap?

2nd rd pick? (in mtl's case that's 33rd overall)
pick + prospect?
more?

Sharks are saving 3.6M$ on the cap, but downgrading in both spots.
Change of veteran presence for both teams.

like it for Montreal b/c I think Marleau/Havlat would make perfect linemates for Plekanec (whereas neither GIonta/Bourque complement him well, but would likely be productive playing with Thornton)

other teams could/would probably give up more or better young assets, but in Gionta (and to a lesser extent, Bourque), they'd be getting players more likely to contribute now/near future, while Thornton/Boyd are still capable of playing key impact roles. Not sure if they'd get that from a team giving up a quality young asset/1st rd pick.
That's a pretty ugly proposal. The + would need to be a 1st rounder (preferably 2012.) Marleau isn't a kid but he's still got a scoring touch when he's motivated. I know you wouldn't take that deal but that's what it would take to get Marleau AND Havlat.

Wilson for Yakupov sounds like a fair trade off

Are you looking for core/core trades or will you take prospects/picks?

I would think the Ducks would want Murray Clowe and Pevelski.

Any way the Ducks could get any of those 3 for picks/prospects? We have one of the best prospect pools in the NHL and you have one of the worst so I figure we could work something out.

The Sharks are a slow, slow team in terms of overall speed........they been in the upper echelon of the West for a long time but the last two years indicate that they are slipping gradually and need some kind of overhaul.....similar to the Flames!

Gonna have to offer up a younger, top 4 defenseman then 32 yr old Murray,1 yr away from unrestricted free agency.

Grabner's 24 yrs old and the next two yrs of his contract are very team friendly: $2m next season and $3m in 2013-2014.

I expect Snow to shop his 2nd/3rd rounder and prospects like Rkahshani/Lee.Not young nhlers on good contracts.

Edmonton would be very interested in Boyle.

Obviously not for Yakupov or one of the other three kids given Boyle's age, but there's probably something that could be worked out there.

The main issue is I don't know what kind of NTC Boyle has and whether he'd want to go to a rebuilding team at this stage of his career (though with him I think they could turn things around pretty quickly).

I don't think there is a chance in ****, that Snow gives 4th overall for two yrs of Pavelski.

From what I've heard it's the same as Heatley's he can list 8 teams he doesn't wanna go to

i think this depends on how confident garth is when it comes to keeping murray and pavelski after their current contracts expire

personally i would do it because players usually end up liking long island once they give it a chance and i have heard that murray is already interested in long island (the area, not the team) and nabby could show both of them around

7-10 days ago,Snow told fans not to expect big moves, that he was counting on more consistency from his players and looking to his prospect pool.

I am not sure what more Snow can say, without coming right out an pissing fans off...the isles are not adding big salaries, they are not trading young core players on cheap contracts or 4th overall, for short term pickups or aging stars.

if im the sharks my ONLY 2 untouchables are LC and burns....i know most sharks fans would never want to trade joe and i know/see why, but i didnt include him although it would have to be a MASSIVE overpayment....IMO that burns move last year was a great trade and he and LC and the type of guys they need...granted some of the other players should be a overpayment as well (i.e. boyle, clowe, etc.) but DW needs to be listening to all offers on just about all players...i dont know the situation in shark land but DW might just be approaching the end of his rope

1.Wang had his checkbook open last summer, feeling confident about an arena deal.
The team had offered Erhoff a 6 yr/$33m contract.
Weight had retired and they wanted Rolston for on ice leadership.
1 yr of Rolston at $5m vs. 2 yrs of Hunter at $4m total. One bad contract dealt for another bad contract.

2.Wang has closed the checkbook, after having the Aug.1st bond vote defeated.

Fair enough. Counter proposal:

Clowe for Grabner

if wang isn't willing to spend he should have the team taken away from him as he no longer qualifies as a competent owner

Don't flame me here guys, making an honest attempt... I would think you guys would want more "retool" or straight "blow up" Philly style, not go into full blown rebuild so I tried to keep that in mind...

I think Horton may be done, that being said Clowe is a great replacement...

To Boston:
Clowe

To Sharks:
Thomas

How far or close I am in?... Any interest in Thomas?...

I hope so because here is another proposal with him...lol...

To Boston:
Boyle
Clowe

To San Jose:
Thomas
Boychuck/McQuaid (whom ever you prefer)
BOS 1st Round Pick

Am I close??... What exactly are the Sharks wants/needs???

Don't need a goalie. Niemi is considered crap by a lot of fans but he's not that bad - we have a ton of good prospects in the pipeline too.

Our defensive prospects are decent, and we may see one or two of them crack the roster next year.

We need 2nd line quality wings, fast with scoring ability; current players > prospects > picks.
