Tell that to Chris Drury.

Never like to see guys get concussed but a clean hit IMO and the Ranger fans in my office agreed.
Chris Neil is the kind of player who will make you pay for 'going east-west against the grain with your head down'. A lot of his hits are borderline but to me Boyle did just about everything wrong that he could do on that play to get that hit. Another player might have let up some but Chris Neil is a mean ****er. No doubt he is heading for some suspensions if the NHL continues to clamp down more on physical hockey.

To the Rangers fans here--I wanted Chris Neil a couple years ago when he was a UFA precisely because this guy is a bull that skates well and can take a regular shift.

To the Ottawa fans--that doesn't mean I don't want us to get some real payback on him in the relatively near future. Rangers should go with their best lineup tonight though--give themselves their best chance to win. Payback should be next year. See you then if it ends tonight.

No point in going after Neil now; it will do more harm than good. Best case scenario for the Rangers is that he goes to the box for 5 minutes and there will be a Ranger in there with him. And that's the best available option...others include taking an extra penalty and/or pumping the crowd up because Neil hardly ever gets tuned up by anyone.

This is a clean hit on Hedman? I didn't see an elbow just demolish Hedman from Neil, no way...

Neil leaves his feet and hits Mitchell in the head, always head hunting.

Neil is a head hunter and always has been. The NHL is a joke, hitting someone in the head should be like a high stick situation, it doesn't matter if there was intent, just matters if you did it. If you do it, you get a penalty, with head shots, you do it, you get suspended. This nonsense if there was intent, was there an injury determines suspension, it stop anyone from going after a players head. If the NHL was serious about cracking down on hit to the head, you hit a player in the head, you get suspended, no ifs, ands, or buts.
Drury is a bad blind sided hit. Can't defend that one
Hedman hit looks totally clean.
Mitchell hit, it was his shoulder but it caught him in the head. Mitchell slows down which causes Neil's primary point of contact target to change but if Mitchell doesn't slow down, it would have still been a brutal hit. Most likely boarding. The hop comes in the follow through and not prior to the hit which I think makes a big difference but definitely questionable. Either way, with the way Neil plays (i think he is generally clean), he's going to end up with these type of hits and some of them will end up causing injuries. He isn't a head hunter as some claim, but his style certainly can result in accidental head shots more often than other players. He is definitely not a Torres of Matt Cooke type of player.

the best payback is on the score board. eliminating Ottawa will be the blow that hurts the most. LGR

Definitely the best case scenario. Even so we should be looking for Chris next year. Nothing personal. Just business.

The whole league knows it but Shanny, be quiet or you'll wake him up...by the way Hags is a much more dangerous threat to the league, then that psycho...

How you all liking that Wolski for Scott trade now?

At some point a player has to be responsible for his own well being on the ice, to be alert because this is a physical sport. Boyle was admiring his shot, watch the replay. Thats a rookie mistake, you never watch a pass or a shot with your head down going through the middle of the ice.

Neil nailed him hard and clean, he did not leave his feet and the only reason the head was hit was because Boyle was still looking at his shot still bent over. Torts was off on this saying it was just like the Torres hit, Torres left his feet. Crying about this is for losers so lets start concentrating on a big win tonight in game 6!

LGR!

Had a very brief chat with Brian Boyle today. "I feel OK," was all he said. In good spirits, but no timetable to get back on ice.

You've said this twice - it was Wolski for a 3rd. Scott was a separate piece.

And holy ****, complaining about Wolski STILL? He's a healthy scratch for the Panthers.

Really feel bad for Boyle that he has to be in a suit Thursday after so much hard work.

Hopefully they give him something to cheer for.

Boyle on a stationary bike is good news. Means he hasn't been shut down and he's doing light work outs. Usually light work outs mean a week tops before skating again, and then usually within a few days after that is when a player comes back. Hopefully he suffers no setbacks and is on the ice for us soon, he was one of our most important role players.

What are the lines after he comes back. Additionally Zuke is gonna be healthy too around the same time.

Zucc
Mitchell

If Boyle stays out then I think Zucc is the first scratch in the event of an injury.

Rupp will be out before Mitchell.

Ok...just throwing this out there...if Boyle is out...instead of inserting Scott, how about calling up Yogan.

Just an idea.

What's the word on Dubinsky?

I don't think so. Torts likes what Rupp brings and the fact that Rupp has much more experience bodes well for him staying.

Rangers have no SPCs left for Yogan. His SPC is scheduled to start next season. Plus he is sidelined with a leg injury. He started skating last week.

doubtful. rupp has playoff experience - most importantly while mitchell does not. rupp is a hell of a lot more physical than mitchell. rupp hasnt made the glaring mistakes that lead to goals that mitchell has as of the last 20 games or so.

anisimov and dubi both being on the bottom 2 lines gives us flexibility to insert wingers if need be. if you add in boyle it's almost a certainty at this point that mitchell would be the one to be scratched, not rupp.
