I think a few of these guys may be "first liners" in the way James Neal is(ie basically he is not a guy who could carry a line all by hismelf but he is a very good player to play with a top line center)

Silfverberg
Jankrok
Nyquist
Kucherov
Spooner
Namestikov
Koko

I'd bet good money on Strome not amounting to more than a 2nd line centre. I'd also add Huberdeau to your list.

It is very likely that Strome never plays center with the Islanders. The possibility of him playing on Tavares' wing, and the numbers he would then put up, would qualify him as a 1st liner.

I understand, but we do have different opinions on a what a 1st line player is. If a guy is playing consistently on a team's first line and is consistently producing, I see him as a first liner. That said, I don't think Strome will be Tavares' puppet or anything. It's not only the numbers, but Tavares will help Strome become a 1st liner player - a 1st line player that will meet others' qualifications.

Etem
Coyle
Bartschi - yes
Palmeri
Rattie -
Granlund - yes
Strome - depending on if he plays RW, but likely not. Would be a 1st liner on most teams.
Stone
Zibanejad
Toffoli
Kreider
Phillips
Connolly - yes
Couturier - yes
Johansen -yes
Scheifele
Armia - yes
Schwartz - yes
Huberdeau - yes

Some others would if they were on another team.

I think he'll be a 2nd liner or an AHLer like a lot of other Kings prospects who had great junior success, but couldn't translate it to the NHL.

Forsburg and Zibanejad are both projected as 1st liners, but I wonder which one will be better. I think Forsburg.
