Yeah, I heard he was playing with a fractured foot, thumb ligament injury, and a sprained MCL in the playoffs. Yikes. If true, he's better off resting at home.

Brodie: Sharks Defenseman Justin Braun has just been added to USA Hockey's roster for the World Championships. Braun will make his first appearance as a member of a US National Team.

I like that for him. Gets him more development time and hopefully helps him come out even stronger next season for us.

Team USA games will be on NBC Sports. (Most live. 2am PT games, anyone?)

Congrats to Braun. Well deserved and can do nothing but help in his development.

Last year, I think they aired live (early in the morning) and they re-aired the games later in the day.

I agree. Pavelski really started to shine after the Olympics. Hopefully Braun follows a similar path after the WCs.

I just came to add that the Team USA vs France game in the WHC will be playing at 2 AM PST. I guess it's to accommodate the time over there but I can't watch it if I'm asleep!

It’s odd coming together with NHL rivals like this, but there’s no hard feelings or grudges, we’re all here to win Gold for Canada. One guy I’ll get to know well is Marc-Édouard Vlasic, the only other player from Quebec. We’re roommates.

If I were a betting man (I'm not) I'd put my money on Sweden winning.

Just look at a possible PP line of theirs:

1st PP

Henrik Zetterberg, Johan Franzén, Loui Eriksson, Daniel Alfredsson
Erik Karlsson

NASTY

Team USA's roster is better than last year's, I'm hoping we medal though. Bronze is A-ok for me, but let's go for gold!

Does anyone know why Greiss isn't playing? Germany only has two goalies on roster, so i'm assuming he said no.

He's obviously exhausted from carrying much of the load all season. What a workhorse he is. That Niemi guy barely played. What a waste of 3.8 mill. He should get Hueted.

Jokinen is the most useless player ever. Can't see how the guy is still playing in the NHL.

And to think, some Leafs fan thinks that Marleau is about the same level as Jokinen.

I'm quoting this from the WC forum, hope you mods can be mindful of that this one time, just to show how ridiculous it can become when organisers get greedy.

To demand such absurd prices for tickets, during a repression, is beyond retarded. Fans are doing the right thing and stay home.

Zetterberg commented on the low audience and said something like: "With those prices, I'm not surprised."

To also host the tournament in Stockholm was of course also dumb. It's far from a hockey town.
I watched the first period of the game and there were three things that were shockingly horrible.

1. The amount of people showing up. The arena was dead silent.

2. The referees. If you think the NHL refs are bad, just wait till you watch one of these WC games

3. The Youtube commentators. What the ****? That's all.
