Braun is a pretty bad defenseman in his own zone...he has a lot to improve upon. Hopefully playing in the WC helps him grow...?

Getzlaf apparently almost got into a fight with some Finnish dudes at a club. Best captain ever.

Over the weekend, forward Michal Handzus was added to the IIHF World Championship roster for Slovakia: http://*******/Ja6hQs. You can catch him in action now against Team USA and Justin Braun on NBC Sports Network.

Handzoos actually won faceoffs today unlike his whole season with the sharks.

Looking at the stands, you'd think that Australia and NZ are playing.

****ing Canada playing with a roster full of NHL players, and 5 people turn up to watch? This is ****ing beyond embarrassing. ****ing fire Kummola already for his ridiculous pricing.

Oof. THAT's empty. People make jokes when NHL teams don't have full arenas but that's just... bad. Surely pricing can't be the only reason so few showed up. What gives?

It's just that, prices. People are only going when we are playing, all the games are ridiculously priced. That Canada game was (and I mean cheapest tickets) close to a 100 euros IIRC. Who's going to pay a 100 euros to see a group game?

edit: 100 euros = 130 dollars

Just watched the 2nd period of the Belarus USA game and Braun didn't get a shift. I'm assuming he's dressed, but I'm not 100% sure because A.) I didn't see him, and B.) I can't remember if they dress 7 d in international competition.

They dress 7 defenseman. (Remember: you get to ice an extra skater in international play). I'm too tired to remember if Braun played in per. 2, but if he didnt it's probably because he's been the worst player on the team.

Edit: to clarify, every team gets to ice an extra 2 skaters (usually it's a defenseman and one forward). Braun is dressed, on the bench.

I'm not sure if Braun getting exposed like this is good or bad. All depends on his attitude.

For him, I actually think its good because

A. Being exposed to different players and systems is going to make him understand what he has to work on.

B. Keeps Sharks fan aware of his shortcomings regardless of how good he may have looked playing in the Sharks "system"

Yeah Braun should be motivated to get better because he can't get much worse.

Starting at 100 Euros?! Good lord that's expensive. What's stupid is you know they'd more than double ticket sales if they cut that price in half.
