Game 4 was the anti-Game 3 and Game 5 was really exciting.

This series was disappointing but in the end they showed they could beat the Flyers.

We blew game 1. It's a different series if we win that.

Hockeys a funny game.

Not really, Flyers just let up after destroying them in 2 & 3. If happens a lot in series. Flyers clearly the better team in the series. Killing them in 4 and squeaking out a win in 5 don't make up for getting clubbed in 2,3 and 6.

The whole series was a disaster, pathetic that they were in 3-0 hole to begin with.

Winning two in a best of seven isn't quite what I think the Pens had in mind as "showing" anyone anything, do you think?

As of the end of Game 3, it looked like the Pens were out of the Flyers' league.

They only are memorable, "best moments", because the only alternative - being swept and totally outclassed - was so loathsome. The best playoff moment since the cup was advancing against Ottawa in 2010, everything else sucks equally.

That's true.

And if you look at the regular season, 2 years in a row we were one win away from winning the division, if we won 1 more game last year we would have played Buffalo instead of Tampa Bay, and this year, 1 more win would have gotten us #1 seed and a series vs. Ottawa, then the Rangers would play the Flyers. Since the Rangers own the Flyers, they probably would have won that series, and if we beat Ottawa, we could beat teams like Boston, NYR, Washington, New Jersey and Florida, so the Pens not winning a game pretty much screwed themselves into a 1st round series vs. the Flyers, it's on them, they should have won that home and home against the Isles.

And in almost all the other games it looked like the Flyers were out of the Pens league.

The Pens sure showed they could beat the Flyers, 2 out of 6 games... that doesn't get it done in the playoffs. The FLyers owned us this year in the regular season and in the playoffs.

Nothing about this playoffs were good memories. We got outplayed, outhit, and out coached.... it was tough to watch.

We should have seen the writing on the wall after those two games. Two losses against a team that should have been a guaranteed 4 points when the division title is on the line, to me, shows this team just didn't bear down when it needed to.

Playing lackadaisical hockey seemed to be a trend for this team, starting with the Isles debacle, and ending with blowing big leads against Philly in Games 1 and 2.

The best moment since the cup was the postgame interview after game 6.

"The Best Player In The World"

It was just one of those moments when you realize what type of people you are dealing with and you just laugh and walk away.

Another great moment was Neals hits and one of them playing dead and the other stumbling around trying to fake a 10 second concussion.

Game 4 for me. After how cocky Philly got, all the taunting, the new covers, the stories, the shirts...after all that class crap...they poked the bear one too many times and got manhandled 10-3...which makes it sound closer than it was.

Or tanked for the 6 seed like the Devils did.

Really I think the system is flawed. It is terrible to see the teams with the top points being seeded where they were. It should have been
1. Rangers
2. Penguins
3. Flyers
4. Boston
5. NJ
6. Florida
7. Washington
8. Ottawa

Yeah we would have drawn Washington who looks to be a handful right now too but at least it would have made a lot more sense. Not to mention we could have lost that last game, if we really wanted to in order to increase our chances of getting Florida. Just really a dumb system. Teams fight all year to get in a better position and in the end the Pens at number two ended up playing essentially the 3 seeded Flyers in the first round.

To put it in perspective the way the Nhl did it is they now have
1 playing 8
2 playing 3
4 playing 7
5 playing 6
Hardly seems like a fair system at all. Rangers v Sens is the only one that makes any sense whatsoever.

However I do agree with your point that the Pens only had to win one more game to get the only logical matchup in the conference.

How do you fix it though? The only way that I see of fixing it is to get rid of divisions and just have conferences. I don't think the NHL or the PA would ever agree to that.

Last year tasking Tampa without Sid and Geno was better than this.

Tell me about it. What a spin job this is. The only thing more disastrous than this year's result would've been not making the playoffs somehow. I put it on par with a sweep given that they inexcusably blew game 1 and the way they 'played' and behaved in games 2 and 3.

He was the best player in the world over the last 2 weeks. Who has been better?

So by this I could say the edm kid was the best player because nobody was better than him on his nine pt effort?

I'm just saying that through the first 2 weeks of the most important part of the season Giroux has been the best player to date. You can't deny that he was the best player in that series.

Nobody will.... But don't deny he doesn't have a cup. Don't deny he has never matched what a lot of players have already done.

This new world of sports where we declare everyone the best is ridiculous. I'm not blaming you, but you got sucked right into it. Players are either the best or the worst ever. It's a joke.

Problem is you don't immediately become "the best player in the world" after a two week stretch of being the best. That's like someone anointing Phil Kessel the best player in the world after his fast start this year. Would that have made sense at the time when he was leading the league in points?

Claude Giroux has been one of the most complete players in the world for a while. It's good that he's finally getting the recognition he deserves.

Holy smokes what a huge sample size! What is this, a Giroux fan meeting?`. You do not get the title "best player in the world" by being the best player on the ice a couple of games. With all due respect to Giroux and the good series he had it would be ridiculous to say he isnt being ridiculously overrated player. Sure he had a great series , but what superstar wouldnt have those numbers against the worst goaltending in a series in hockey history?. Giroux is good, but the fanboys buzzing around his nuts are laughable. Lets see if the kid can keep even this level for more than few games..
