Canadian Captaincy

In case you haven't heard, Richards was named the team captain and Carter an assistant for the World Junior squad this year.

That's really great. Those two really deserve it.

The future looks good in Philly!

Richards = Captain of the Kitchener Rangers, captain of the OHL all-stars vs the Russians, now captain of Team Canada at the WJC's... Future captain of the Flyers? Has a nice ring to it.

Good thing you were kidding because if you look for it you'll find a few more posts like these.

Like I said earlier I think Richards will be the horse in Philly for years to come.

Definately, and I think he has everyone's respect as of now.

I like the fact Clarke drafts for character as well as the play of his prospects. High scoring prospect with no character = Pavel Brendl.

Actually, Carter will be the horse - he's the thoroughbred. Richards will be the sheepdog, showing tenacity and leadership.

[editors note - enough of the animal analogies already]

Actually, I beg to differ on that. I think Richards will be a world class offensive player. I think he'll rise above the shadow of Jeff Carter and be the better player of the two. Richards might not be six feet, but his play is head and shoulders above Carter.
