I also want to give Lewis big props for...well, basically playing like Lewis, as he's done all this series, and caused that big turnover on a 100% legal hit. Hustle, hustle, hustle

...and don't forget King who moved into great position, making both the remaining defenseman and Schneider have to respect him, thus giving Stoll the space to shoot, rather than having to shoot into a squared goalie body.

Love that the 3rd/4th line guys are playing their best hockey of the season, just what you need in the playoffs. So glad for Stoll and the whole team

so, in the recent play offs history

2010 - Vancouver loses to Chicago and they win the Stanley Cup
2011 - Vancouver loses to Boston and they win the SC
2012 - Vancouver loses to LA...

In other news...

200+ people met the Kings tonight at the airport when they arrived home (with extremely short notice on location) - impressive!: http://twitpic.com/9d1yx7
wow that is great. It is a nice number of people on short notice.

Congratulations guys and girls! What a great series (although I missed most of tonight's game - damn the networks and their eastern bias broadcasts!)

Every player on the team had a hand in this series win and I'm hoping to see the same in round 2!

Enjoy!

Nice to see people showed up and greeted the Kings, looks like the city is finally starting to care about sports other than Blake Griffin and Kobe Bryant.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised if we kept our first rounder this year:

Aaron Portzline

Former #CBJ coach Ken Hitchcock can do the Blue Jackets a huge favor by beating #LAKings in 2nd round, keeping draft pick at No. 17 overall.

If #LAKings advance to conference finals, pick will be in 27-30 range. #CBJ have option for Kings 1st rd pick this year or next year.

Congrats guys. This shows that "the better team on paper" isn't always the better team on the ice. We have a lot of work to do this offseason, and me personally, I'm gonna need some sort of hobby haha.

Sucks sucks sucks... Big time... But hey, what ya gonna do? Enjoy you're run while it's here!

Why did it have to be Stoll. Was not happy with his play most of the season, not to mention his idiotic penalties in the playoffs; but I admit he had a solid game last night. He was forechecking hard as well.

Extremely happy with the win. Also happy to be playing the Blues. Regardless of the result, it should be a heavy hitting and exciting series. Other notables:

Penner and Lewis are husting.
Really impressed with poise shown by Nolan. Anyone see that pass he made to the point that one shift? That wasn't a rookie play.
Richards/Carter are warmin up. At least they're creating chances.
....and can't say enough about Quick. So glad we have him.

Go Kings!

If you would have told me at any point last year that Stoll, Lewis and Dwight freaking King were on the OT GWG line, I would have slapped you

.

That was quite the way to finish the series!!! I thought Stoll played well GWG aside even.

Now..Where is that guy that was bragging about how he is the best prediction maker of all time? Who said after gm 4 that the Nucks would win?

Reports from the 200+ Kings fans meeting the team when they came home last night:

From Tre West on LGK: "Of all the Kings, the 2 that drove super slow, windows down, giving everyone high fives......

Jarret Stoll and Dustin Penner.

Hell, Penner came to a stand still in order to give everyone a high five. Hope he's got some hand sanitizer in his car.

Bernie Nichols also slowed down to give everyone a high five.

Coach Sutter and Deano looked happy to see us as well. Stoll, Penner, and Richardson shook a lot of hands tonight."

Charazard: "Brad Richardson gave us high fives as he went by too!

Pretty cool, probably the closest thing I have ever felt to the Kings winning something big.

I left towards the end of it all and at the stoplight at Sepulveda Bernie Nicholls pulled up alongside of me, and I said "Yea Bernie!". He gave us the thumbs up and looked really happy!"
