Mikko Koivu to CHI

No idea what value should be. I know he's their captain and he's a great two way player.

Sharp, McNeil, 2012 1st

Koivu

Eh, kinda an over payment by Chicago imo. Sharp and Koivu are pretty close as players, with Koivu having an edge for being a center.

Hasn't Sharp also played some center in the past as well?

I think it might be over payment by Chicago but since Minny isn't looking to move their captain I think it is a good proposal.

Toews missed 20+ games this year and sharp probably took about 10 faceoffs during that stretch.

For whatever reason Sharpie just does not play center. Both of these guys are great two way players, Koivu is just a center who is a bit better defensively.

I fell in hockey love with Koivu when the Hawks played MIN in December/January. I really liked how he dominated in his own zone. Very impressive. Hawks add McNeil to sweeten the deal and because they won't need him anymore.

Saad-Toews-Kane
Stalberg-Koivu-Hossa
Hayes-Bolland-Shaw

Toews-Koivu-Bolland for center depth...yes please

You can probably argue that the "value" is close, but Minnesota doesnt even consider this deal.

Minnesota says no to Chiggy...Value might be there but for now we're sticking with Koivu.

Minnesota says no because they want to stick with Koivu.

Sharp told Q he'd play C whenever Q wanted...Not on Sharp..Let's not forget Hawks think Kane should play C...Would love to have Koivu, but that's a LARGE overpayment..

Sharp can say whatever he wants to the press.. that doesn't mean that's how it goes down in the lockerroom. There's no reason, given how Sharp played in the Hawks Cup year at centre, that he shouldn't be a full-time centre. Obviously, Q liked him enough to play him at centre then.. but, obviously, something changed and it changed last year, not this year.

As to the deal, while the value is definately there... Minny just has no reason to move their all-world captain.

Massive overpayment for what would be a 2nd line center in Chicago. No thank you.

And you would have the best center depth and 1-2 punch in the world behind Pittsburgh.

Or the Hawks could just move Sharp back to C and have the same 1-3 they had when they won cup

This trade is horrendous value

Sharp and Koviu are basically the same value ,, Throwing 2 1st rounders Minny's way is massive overkill

I think Chicago would be overpaying... But Minnesota losing Koivu would be a huge step backwards for the entire franchise - worse than when we lost Gaborik.

He's the only untouchable player in our system. The team can't seem to win games without him.

Actually a good proposal, but it leaves Minnesota with a massive black hole at center instead of just having a slight problem at center. Not good trade partners. If Koivu is going in one direction, than a younger better center is coming back in the other. He's untouchable.

Its a good trade valuewise, except with a Chicago over-payment. But Koivu won't be leaving anytime soon.

The value is very good, probably even overpayment from Chicago's POV but Koivu is the one player on the Wild that won't be moved anytime soon. He's the only top 6 forward we have that's a center (not counting Granlund yet) and is the heart and soul of this team. The only player I've ever toyed with trading Koivu for is Kesler from the Canucks.

They really aren't. Koivu is flat out one of the best players in the world, he does ALOT more than score. He's Kopitar+, he's very very underrated. To put it in perspective i'd give up Yakupov for him no problem.

I wouldn't do it if i were Minny.

Koviu is a much better player than Kesler. I know he doesn't get noticed alot in Minny but his two way game is through the roof, he plays as hard if not harder a role than Kesler and scores more. I'd even call him harder to play against.

Koivu is the heart and soul of Minnesota Wild. They would be idiots, If they traded him. Even If Sharp and Koivu are as good player and Chicago paid bit more, I'd say no.

Meh. Sharp and McNeil from what I understand can both play center, plus no one knows what can be had with that first. It honestly doesn't affect your center depth that much at all. That is a mighty respectable package for M. Koivu.

you are sure you would give away a prospect for a proven 1st Line Center?

REALLY?

I think the hawks fans saying "HUGE overpayment" don't fully appreciate what Koivu would bring to this team. Both with individual talent and his affect on our roster structure.

Value wise, I think my deal is very realistic and fair.
