Dan Cloutier? Their goaltending has been the anti-clutch for a long time as well.

Feels like an oilers thread. I'm happy it stops the bucks from chirping but why celebrate their exit when ours didn't even make it?

I think Loungo is going to TO. Burke (again) will fail to land that power forward this offseason and his consolation prize will be acquiring a #1 netminder, and he has ties to Lou.

As far as this thread goes, I was happy to see Darryl beat our most hated rival. I hope the Kings come out of the West.

Would they really trade for him when they have Reimer? Goaltending isnt their weak point.

I can see Columbus make a play for him. Maybe trade Methot and Mason for Lou?

lol. You don't think goaltending is Toronto's weak point? Their D is bad, but their goaltending is just as bad if not worse.

Reimer isn't a starting goalie in the NHL, sure he had an impressive 40 game stretch when the games didn't matter but look at his play this year, he's the type of goalie that might top out as a 1B type guy but right now it doesn't look like he should be a starter on a playoff team.

You do know how the Leafs season ended right? Goaltending was their main issue for the disasterious end to the season.

Reimer was injured for the end stretch.

Put it this way, I think goaltending is not their only issue and if Reimer was in net they probably wouldn't have bombed the home stretch.. Reimer hasn't played 60 games a season yet but in the few games I saw, he has been pretty good.

Plus I think no other team wants a goalie more than Columbus right now.

Reimer had worse number than Gus and yet he would have done better in the more important games?

You're just angry because Detroit is done.

He was out for a while in the last 3rd of the season, then came back and struggled. Niether Riemer or Gus showed they were able to steal games for them. I'd compare the Leaf's goaltending situation to the Oilers. If Burke could get Lou for a decent price, which I'm sure he can, I bet he pulls the trigger. Lou won't waive to go the Jackets, and I don't know that Yzerman could fit him in with having Stamkos, Vinny, St. Louis and Hedman all locked up long term.

Are u just referring to numbers tho? Because I watched a few leafs games this year and each one Reimer played amazing. U should know that stats don't tell everything(, the leafs gave up a lot of high quality shots when I watched and I didn't see a whole lot Of soft goals on him either.

I also think he never recovered fully from the concussion soon when he came back either.

I watched ~ 20 leaf games and Reimer was hit or miss, either he played amazing or let in 5 goals he simply wasn't reliable as Gus even tho Gus gave up the odd bad goal.

Maybe I was lucky and only saw his good games then *shrug* My impression was they need more mobility or smarter positional dmen before they need another goalie.

They definitely need better defense but goaltending was equally bad.

They'll never admit that because they have future Norris winners Schenn and Gardiner :p

You say that like I wasn't aware of that heh, it's why I thought goaltending isn't their biggest concern.

We should get together sometime and discuss philosophies haha.
