I'm actually pretty pleased about this because Philly fans have to be on suicide watch right now they gave up that pair so they could sign Bryz.
It's funny cause it's true.

I think the Flyers are in pretty good shape as a franchise.
It was still a key play they made to make room for him. I'm aware they had given up on Carter and Richards in terms of team "attitude".

Now who knows if they'd ever have this same success in Philly, but you have to admit it's fun to watch a team "shake up" and get praised for it, only to watch the baggage they dismissed end up being the real deal that wins the Cup.

I do not know, teams/systems/defence make goalies look great. I think it is always/often difficult to point out one player who clearly deserves CS.

When a goalie has his numbers, they typically win unless one of the forwards on the winning team simply has a monster playoffs with a ton of game winning goals. Kopitar, maybe. Kovalchuk if the Devils pull it off, maybe.

There's no stand out forwards or defenders for the Kings, so Quick is going to be the stand out statistically. I mean Giroux is still leading in playoff goals (8)... 6 of which came from the 1st round.

That's true.

Anyhow, Kopitar and Brown each have 2 SH goals, but no PP goals what so ever. Has this ever happened in history of hockey? Does it also say something about the game they play?

Well, if you told me the Kings were gonna win the Stanley Cup this year, i'd say that'd been a bold prediction for sure. Wow.

With both Sutter and Hitchcock having success, if this style of play continues on, this league is headed for another dead puck era

This snoozefest playoffs can't end soon enough

Had you told me that October 1st. I woulda been like I can see it.

Had you said it April 1st, I'd have said no chance.

Really, these playoffs peaked in Rd 1, in the Flyers-Pens series.

Yep.

My (and it seems like the rest of the world's) interest in this final series is very low.

I thought after all those acquisitions they really went all in for this year. I actually posted on the main board that my contender (apart from the Wings of course ) would be the Kings. But then I saw them play and as the season went on, I completely wrote them off. I don't think anyone was betting on the Kings. Not even Kings fans. They can thank Quick for getting them here. Kopitar or Quick for the Conn Smythe.

I read yesterday that the ratings for these finals are the lowest in 5 years. Congrats to LA if they win I guess, but I haven't watched a single game since PHX was eliminated. Honestly does anyone outside of LA / New Jersey give a damn?

A lot of people actually thought this before the season and I was with you. I was talked out of it until the Carter trade because of how terrible their offense was and then he arrived and really scared me from playing them again. The Kings are going be the team of the next decade I have thought that even during their struggles. Bernier is going to produce something of quality in a trade, guys are locked up, and the farm system is still pretty good considering all the moves they made. The Kings actually along with Minnesota and New Jersey, I think is the team that gives us the most trouble for Parise who has a house in LA that he lives in during the off-seasons. If they can get creative that is a really scary thought.

I've watched the 3 games so far, but not start to finish straight. I watched the 1st and 3rd of game 1, most of game 2 and last night I just either had it on in the background or kept switching the channels back and forth.

This doesn't surprise me for five straight years you had Original Six Franchises.

Boston, Vancouver, Detroit, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Philadelphia. Think about that in terms of hockey markets, I expected this to get lower numbers. Maybe not this low but it should by no means shock anyone. The interesting thing will be how much footing the Kings gain in the LA market because I don't think this is a fluke, but chances are with the Clippers and Lakers strong it will be tough even as defending Champs, with the best team in town.

This was THE WORST postseason I have ever seen. Yes, there were some entertaining New York Rangers series. That was it. It's been nothing but the LA Kings show.

I personally can't get enough of these finals games.

Crowds have been intense and there have been a lot of close plays.

I've enjoyed the Finals so far- high intensity level, plenty of speed on both sides, big saves, 2 OT games so far... not too shabby IMO. I like watching the Kings work their forecheck, pressure NJ and then capitalize on their opportunities. It's funny to me that Kopitar plays in LA and has been flying under the radar when it comes to discussing the best forwards in the league- guy's a beast.

Apparently Preds are saying bye-bye to Radulov. I don't think anyone is surprised.

Preds are about to say bye to most of their trade deadline acquisitions.

Actually, the Kings are generating some interest in them, or at least their bandwagon, even here, and this is ****ing podunk.

Personally, I wouldn't mind an LA SC, they've in the league a long time, and if it happens at the expense of NJ, I'm cool with that.
