Beating the Pens was the Flyers Cup. Just like beating us was for Nashville.

Amen.

If they are going to keep winning, maybe they should just win the Cup.

That way Parise will have achieved his goal in NJ, all the role-players on the team will want huge raises for being playoff heroes, and it will force money issues while they all go for "the next challenge."

I'm trying to spin this all positively

1-0 Yotes. Leaks through Rinne.

Really hope the Yotes win. I never want the Preds to succeed.

2-0 Yotes. Hanzal scores it.

Kind of a weak goal to let in by Rinne considering he is getting paid 7 million bucks.

if phoenix plays like they did against the preds, the kings will sweep them easily. relying 100% on your goalie will never work in the long run. at least the kings have been outplaying their opponents for the most part

If the Wings sign Suter in the offseason, they should send a fruit basket to the Yotes.

I don't know, I think they've looked a lot like the Kings have so far this playoff season.
Although they haven't faced the #1 and 2 seeds like the Kings.

As much credit as Quick has gotten during these playoffs I think Smith has been even better. They've won a lot of 1 goal games and he's got 2 shutouts this playoff season already.

Then you have the layoff the Kings will have had before the next round starts and their first opponent they'll be favored against as well. I certainly wouldn't be surprised to see Phoenix in the finals.

I just think the kings have shown to be the better team and haven't had to rely on quick nearly as much as the yotes have had to rely on smith.

relying solely on your goalie will come back to bite you eventually

Why's that?

If I had to pick one team in the Central to win the Cup, besides Detroit, I'd probably pick Nashville.

You couldnt pay me to root for any team in the Central. I always prefer some obscure team in the WC wins or an Eastern conference team if Detroit is out.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not rooting for the Preds. But I also just don't have the level of dislike for them that I do the other Central teams. In fact, I respect what their GM and coach have done over the years with such a low internal cap most years.

At this point, I've enjoyed watching the Kings and the Rangers (tonight - wow!) the most so far, so I'm hoping to see them in the Cup Final. I guess that's who I'm "rooting" for. The only teams I really don't like that are still playing are Philly and Washington. I'm pretty much indifferent towards the rest.

Mike Smith was inches away from crashing the board.

I love it that the Preds lost.
I specially love the way they lost.
I love they lost cause they play boring hockey.

So it is the Coyotes (3) vs the Kings (8) in the finals. Who would have thought so? I strongly doubt anyone predicted this final.
The Kings have knocked out seed 1 and 2 and now they are playing seed 3.

I hope the Coyotes win.

I think I'll root for Phoenix this time around. I can't stand to look at all the "beautiful" people when they play in LA.

Loving the preds board. "great season because we beat the wings.". I wonder if they realize that they were total garbage this year?

I wonder if they are going to hang a banner up for beating the wings.

L.A for me, easily.

Would they have people show up for a parade though... even if it's a huge city I doubt they have many fans percentage wise.

I heard the Sharks have a 2010 and 2011 banner for their series wins against Detroit.

Funny how the last three years the team that beat Detroit in the playoffs bowed out in the next round. Cumulative 2-12 record in those three years.

LA loves a winner, as long as one of the LA basketball teams doesn't win a championship, they will be the toast of the town. It is how that city works and if you were in the group that feared Doughty getting out of shape and Richards and Carter party too much, it should be fun to watch. I am rooting for Philly to come back and lose to LA in the finals, would love to get to watch Richards and Carter pay that city and management back. If not Washington vs. LA would be pretty fun to watch in my opinion. Ovie winning a cup or LA with Quick and I am big Kopitar and Brown fan would be pretty awesome.

In his defense, he isn't making 7 million bucks yet, that's next year and he will be earning every penny if they lose Suter and possibly even Weber if they feel like trading him after watching Suter leave for free.

I have a feeling someone might try poaching Weber as an RFA.

The Hawks apparently fired a very good assistant coach, Mike Haviland, who ran decent special teams until the position got taken away from him. PSSSSSTTTT, Babs... *hint* *hint* *nudge*
