No, Bishop gets the start. These are still important games and Bishop needs to just continue on through the pain.

At the very least for Bishop, having this workload under his belt heading into next season could be hugely beneficial for him moving forward. He was going to take on the role of a true #1 at some point anyway, no reason to sit him now when it matters most (assuming he can manage whatever pain he has and play at a high level, and I'm still convinced he can).

Can't discredit him for what he's done this season. But how did he not encounter this situation in the AHL? An exhausted and under-performing goaltender nearing playoffs, clearly needs a day off.

Time to end the dream of all Leafs fans.
Or keep them alive for another day.
Either way this is going to be an entertaing game.

and an epic game needs epic FF music.

I don't really see the big deal. Plenty of goalies play at least 65 games in a year. In fact, the last full season, 10 goalies appeared in at least 65 games.

a win and lessening the tensions in the division race would be quite nice 'cause, otherwise, there's a good chance Detroit's only one point back come Thursday night.

Marc Denis, yeah, that miserable scrub, started 77 games for the Jackets in 2002-03. Of course, the biggest difference here is that the Jackets were kinda sorta not very good that year.

I guess Cooper thought those three days of rest were enough. The Pens are shutting down Crosby, Malkin, Orpik (yes, but they already have home ice) and here Cooper refuses to let Bishop sit a game. Yeah, Lindback is definitely gone next season.

They have a back to back game this week, Bish has to sit one of those games, or Cooper is out of his mind, unless maybe they win the next two games, and Montreal looses the next 2, and they have a legit chance for home ice.

He's played him on back to back games this seasons, so don't be so sure.

Montreal is sitting Price, Prust, Moen, Emelin, and Markov (Some of those may be injured, not sure) against Chicago. Murray is still feeling shame in the box, I think.

We're still playing the full roster. It's a wager, to be sure, but if Chicago beats Montreal and we win tonight...that's makes things less hairy.

Interesting stat as seen in the Lightning app:

TBL:
Goals for: 229
Goals against: 211

TML:
Goals for: 229
Goals against: 248

That really says a lot about where each team finds themselves in the standings. Of course, Corsi and other advanced metrics likely paint a similar picture, but scoring isn't the problem in Toronto. It's a matter of reducing high % scoring opportunities for the opposition and keeping pucks out of the net. 37 more goals conceded is quite noticeable. Just something I thought was interesting...

We need just one win to clinch the third place and I don't think we catch Montreal as they've been so good lately. Hopefully Coop rests Bishop in the weekend as we need a fresh Bishop for the playoffs badly.

At this point, I'm becoming less concerned with winning games (and getting home ice) and more with at least being competitive for a full 60 min. One step at a time.

Agreed. We need to start to eliminate the bad habits we've had the past 10-15 games (with the exception of the Montreal game). If we start to clean up our play in the defensive zone, play a full 60 minutes, and use our heads, we will start to win games.

Toronto's a weird team. When they lose, they do it IN STYLE. 5-1 and 7-1 and 6-3 etc etc. They've given up 40 shots something like 27 times this year.

And they got booed off the ice in their final home game of the season. That should tell you something.
