Sharks fan here - I'm pretty sure Murray is available, Sharks might be listening to offers for Pavelski too. What would you guys be willing to send the other way?

Probably - although I'm thinking that if Clowe goes, then Pavelski doesn't.

Nick Leddy has looked like doo-doo in the defensive end. Great puck mover. Ranked in the 800's league wide in plus minus. 800's!

He is not progressing at all in his defensive play in this current system.

Mitchell's a UFA. I think I'd do Sharp+Frolik for Pavelski+Murray.

Clowe's available.

You guys interested in Niemi?

What do you think it'll cost the Hawks to get him back?

That's a lateral move at best for the Hawks. Niemi is hardly better than Crawford, and Sharp is a better version of Pavelski. Not a big fan of that one... but you're at least on to something with Pavelski + Murray for Sharp as a basis.

In his defense, Niemi was pretty damn good in the Blues series. He's a significant upgrade over Craford. It was our ****ing forwards that screwed us over.

I may be alone in this, but I'm more concerned about our 2C than our goaltending. Craw will be fine after the sophomore twitches but I can't see a Cup contender running Kruger in the 2 position. And to be honest, Bolland was a disappointment as well. Our depth at C is pretty poor so not sure what options are out there with most of the high 2012 UFAs at LW or D. A trade could work but might need to be a blockbuster.

I could see Kane leaving if Q's vision holds or Sharp out if Bowman's vision dominates. Either way, we could obtain a quality 2C and some pieces.

Find a legit goaltender.
Find a legit #2 center.
Find a legit #4 defenseman (Leddy is not NHL-ready)
Find a new coach

I expect none of this to be done and we'll have another year of mediocrity.

Kruger and Leddy should pull a Kaner and spend this entire summer bulking up.

Even adding 5-10 pounds of muscle could make a big difference for them.

I want Suter!

Then trade Leddy + other prospects for a legit #2 C.

Hawks need to continue finding players that need a new situation and can thrive in Chicago. They need to be NHL players, but it's amazing how certain teams around the league constantly develop players that nobody wanted. We've done a decent job with Stalberg (Kopecky was also a decent job). Bowman needs to go sign a bunch of guys like that who are ready to take the next step instead of throwing these kids into the fire. Shaw is ready. Kruger needs to go get top 6 time in Rockford if they want him 2C in future, he's not ready now. Hayes needs to go to Rockford as well, although he is close to NHL ready. Hawks need to take some shots on some projects and develop them. That's how you find the gems like we found in 2010 with certain players like Sharp and Versteeg that developed into great players.
